Time passed differently when your lifespan could see generations go by without deep connections. This made being an elf a sad experience when living among shorter lived races. There was a term for it. It was when an Elf was Forlorn. A cynical depression that overtook many long lived figure over time unless a goal of great need and fervor was worked on that surpassed mortal social constructs. Many years had passed and a whole generation of humanity when the people were sent to this strange world and scattered to the four winds when they were deemed dangerous. The Castrovel natives were labeled 'Elf' from the mortal natives of this world. One of trains, and stucko houses, steam driven wheeled vehicles. It was a world of magic, hidden away from the masses, Muggles the mud-blooded were called by those with the gift. Behind a Veil that kept the world of magic from prying eyes. From the rest of the world seeing the truth. One of these Castrovel natives had one of those overreaching goals. One that would unite his people to a common goal before the nefarious Ministry of Magic could do it in. It was this goal that meant all of the people would be collected that wished to be part of something greater. Something their people strove for from the beginning a scant 35 years ago. Victor Blumetale, was hiding his ears with a common disguise spell that warped his figure to look more human. His normally high cheek boned jaw, lowered, and his pointed chin rounded. Extra flesh made meaty cheeks and his sky blue almond shaped eyes rounded and turned a Mud-blood brown. He tolerated this injustice because it let him move more freely among the unaware humanity. Covered by a water and muck resistant storm coat, black gloves held a silver cane that was popular with the time, and a Stove top hat adorned his disguised brown hair. Today he sought his newest quarry, a young lass that had not had the advantages that he did when the Ministry raided them 3 & ahalf decades ago.

Ilyana had plans to go to a secret hideaway, unown to those that would be referred to as these Muggles. She hurried herself to a museum, entering with the help of a bodyguard she had gotten aquatinted with. Once inside, she traversed the halls, clearly not paying attention to anything within this building. She turned here and there, until she was in a hallway that really was for staff, but wasn't closed off either. Patrons just had no reason to go down it, unless it was a bathroom emergency. She made her way to a closet, and paused, making sure no one followed or was looking. Once she deemed it safe, she opened the door and slipped inside, to be quickly brought to the hideout that had been stationed here for quite some time. She descended some stairs that presumably led to the underneath of the museum, and opened to an entire floor where many like her were there to eat and relax. Some greeted her upon arrival, waving and smiling. "Hey! What's on the menu tonight?" She called out, walking over to the kitchen section of the hideout. Sometimes she even helped with making the food, so she was welcome there.

Indeed she was. Elves among other folk that was from the world of magic were there. A Gnome could disguise himself as a little person easily enough, but his Shock of blue hair and his bulbus nose was on display here. "Ah Ilyana! Good ya made it. We've got some crisp sprouts and dandelions in mist sauce if you are just starting. " More than one course of lighter to heavier things was certianly lost on all the humans but the French and sometimes the Italian burgouses. Of course if she was helping later she would get to eat and start after any course to familiarize herself with what was being made to boot. But she knew what she wanted to eat anyway. Across the hall she spotted another elf, the first one she had seen in a long time. After all there were less than 30 of them across the realm. It would be another 15 years until they tried again unless there was some sort of contact to instruct or open the way with an Elfgate. She knew the Ministry of Magic would oppose such if they could. Which was why 'The People of the Unseen Mountain' scattered to the four winds. Some would call that place Avalon, or others call it Atlantis, but no matter what folklore people used it was an unreachable realm without powerful magic. Victor Blumetale would eye her as she saw him. His name was really Valerian, but only among the people. Giving her a knowing nod and wordlessly invite her to join him. She knew he was one of the magicians who specialized in the aura solidification of the gate while they traveled and was one of the last to arrive in this Realm of Muggles and hidden magics. His disguise fit loosely on his shoulders while he ate. But his stoic expression warmed at spotting her finally. (edited)

Ilyana smiled as she easily blended into the scene. As she got situated, her eyes always drifting about, she spotted another elf. This made her nearly freeze where she stood, were her eyes deceiving her? She even narrowed her gaze at him, briefly returning the nod. She picked up that he was magical, but she avoided him like the plague. Whoever he was, she didn't want to interact, not here. She got her food and sat down at a table quite literally across the room, as far from him as possible. It irked her, or something did, at least, that he was there. Why, she wasn't entirely sure yet. But she had a hunch she'd find out soon. Ilyana's eyes drifted back to the kitchen here and there, in case they needed help. She would spring up and lend her helping hands as always, she never ignored that need. Her mind kept drifting and thinking about this stranger though. Something felt familiar, and it took her a while for it to click. When she realized, she looked over to him again to see if he was still glancing in her direction. If so, she'd have to make a decision if she wanted to engage in conversation or not. And that was a difficult choice to make. (edited)

There were less than 30 of the people on the whole Earth, of course it was unfathomably rare to find each other. Her own kind, someone she didn't have to hide her nature from, wear baggy clothes or multiple layers for anything but warmth. Memories of forest glades, and tall towers of Crystal, the waterfalls of the Aqueducts of El, it was enough to make the heart ache. But their group were pioneers, some had been to other Realms before like Aketon or Galorion. But new portals could not be opened without survey teams who could build return gates. Some teams are never heard from again, and when they were all separated without reasonable ways to communicate it seemed all was lost. Now she had been found out, or at least a small safe haven against the Muggles that were dangerously ignorant to the Veil laid over their perceptions. Valerian couldn't help but wonder why she avoided him like that. She didn't leave, he knew she had to eat at least. He had enjoyed his meal over an hour. But the newspaper beside him was the last thing he wanted to read. His skyblue eyes still had trouble seeing her, from her hiding place, but he was not going to chase after her. She had to work out what kept her away. Perhaps she was tortured by the Ministry of Magic, or one of the humans or wizards had done it under the veil of shapechange. One of Llyana's friends came over with their own snack. " Oh Hey Lil, did you see the big blue eyes over there? He looks a lot like you. " she said quite surprised, since few had ever seen one of the People before.

Ilyana looked at her friend and gave a faint smile. "I did see him, yes. Something about him seems familiar...besides the obvious." She murmured with a soft chuckle. She and her friend conversed a bit before her friend headed off. Ilyana finished her meal and returned her dishes to the kitchen where she helped clean some dishes and tables. Then, she had the courage to walk over to this individual. Ilyana sat down across from him, folding her hands on the table. As she was about to speak, two children ran up and hugged her. "Illy!!!!" They exclaimed, making her smile. "Ah, hello, Calen and Ronda." She ruffled their hair with each hand, the kids laughing in protest. Ronda spoke first. "Are you gonna play with us later!?" Ilyana grinned, giving them a half nod. "If I have time today, I will come by, if not tomorrow. Tell your mother I said hello, and food is in the kitchen." The children scrambled off, letting Ilyana return to this stranger's gaze. "Well, sorry about that, umm. I sat down to converse with you. You seem...familiar, am I wrong or right?" '

Noting her serious manor, he was sure she thought he was an agent. In a way he was, but for the People, not these Humans. His tea had grown cold, and gestured with his long fingers and over it made a turning motion and the liquid turned in his glass and began to steam after a short time. When she finally had come over he was looking at the paper, and put it down again. " It seems you have adapted well. " He says not unkindly. "Lady Netyoive, I have been looking for you for some time. " He had to know if she was an agent or just taking on her likeness. They already had three agents and one of them at least was spying for the rest of the People.

Ilyana rose an eyebrow as she peered over the man. How he knew her true last name was unknown for a few moments in time. She eyed him over again, putting more pieces of the puzzle together. Once she figured it out in her head, she smirked faintly. "I have...why have you been seeking me out, hm? In my safe space." She glared after that, like she was threatened in her own home. Because well...to her, she felt like it.

" This might be your safe space, but it is a safe space for many of the Wizarding World. Could you think of a more suitable location if I had approached you on the street, looking like a fat, balding, American? " Three decades really got someone a crash course on a world culture. It felt good to be speaking Elvish again, as long as they were alone. They did not need humans learning more of it until they were ready. They could even be using private messaging spells but he didn't expect Ilyana to have kept up her studies without a good teacher. " I digress. We are building, and want your help. We have a conclave and it needs resources before I can take you there. "

"So...what do you need me for? I'm living perfectly fine here...why would I trust you?" She furrowed her gaze, eyeing over the man curiously and cautiously. "I probably am not of much help anyhow..." Ilyana stated, folding her arms. "Just tell me what it is you want." Her words were crisp and sharp, almost harmful.

"Because lady Netyoive, you are an expert Negotiator and must seek out your own way of proving why you should trust me. The Ministry is most insidious in its mind controls of our leaders. A new method to determine Loyalty would make our organization much more secure. Might you know of a Wizard who could validate my words without mind dipping into my memories? " Obviously she wouldn't trust a contact that he would introduce. But his patience spanned the ages the way only an elf could with centuries of life to plan and live through. She knew Valerian was quite famous for traveling between many realities, and even held an Orientation on the subject in Elfgate travel in Qaberat, so that even the Lashunta could benefit from his lecture instead of just the Elves.
