Elliott had watched the news carefully every day for the results of the presidential election. Every minute that passed by left him on the edge of his seat, but deep down he felt as if he knew the result was a foregone conclusion. Most would agree that both candidates had ran strong campaigns but one had by far, at the least, convinced his mind for his vote and his heart for his belief and conviction.
When Gwenethen Reynolds was announced as the victor, he almost jumped out of his seat that the American people had similarly placed their faith in her. The New Orleans native captivated everyone in the room with her every word. When she spoke few if any could possibly speak with a conviction and self assuredness like she could. That being one of many qualities that led to him convincing as many as possible in their party that she was the candidate to back.
Applause filled the air with announcement as Gwen entered the room cheers roared through the room. Their President was with them to celebrate the occasion and she seemed happier than anyone to be with these very same people. He watched her shake hands and hug everyone within reach as he made his own way through the crowd. Finally making his way before her, his smile wider than he'd even thought possible.
"Congratulations Madame President. Now, the fun part starts."
