A small, local business that's been around for as long as one could remember. Once it was a bespoke tailor for men, it now is a one that is more-so focused on clothing of all sorts and sizes.
What really made the clothing store stand out from most, is that people would often come to have their own shirt tailored from scratch, adjusted, fixed and whatnot. The cleric, although the only (current) employee, would gladly size the patron up, offer them a prime and time for them to come pick up their desired dress, shirt or pants. Whatever it was, as long as it was in her ability, she would work work in the small workshop out back just to fulfill the commission.
The small store is humble, and its advertisements never really go past flyers and the sign on the window outside for all pedestrians to see. One such flyer is picked up by a passerby, and once read, it would elaborate:
"Tired of not finding your right size? Need something repaired, or replicated? Let it be your shirt, jeans or anything else - Charlotte is ready to accommodate you with the best fabrics & prices. *Customized attires available!
Key Key was on his way home from work, and the shops on Main Street were starting to close up. There had been a recent drizzle, and the sidewalks glimmered with the reflection of streetlights. Passing by Silver Lining, he peeked in - Key Key had been too busy to stop by lately, and the shop always had a rotation of featured attire. Putting his hand up to the glass to block the glare, he peered in towards the men's section, where his eye fell on a set of dress shirts in bold pastels. He looked around for the salesperson - he didnt want to be "that guy" who came in 5 minutes before closing and held everything up.
Charlotte was inside, sitting under the only bright light left on as she used the sewing machine. The radio played some gentle music one would expect to hear at some fancy hotel, or a cigar club, or to better put it: the type of music you would be sipping whiskey to in a room full of smoke hanging between you and the ceiling lights.
The sign still said open, despite the dim lighting - almost an oxymoron.
Key Key spotted Charlotte in the shop, whose attention was concentrated on the sewing machine. She seemed busy and he didn't want to interrupt, especially since he had other matters to attend to at the edge of town. He resolved to check again the next day and see if Charlotte would be available to help him pick the perfect shirt.
As Key(^2) made his way into the store, an old man had just left with a frown on his face. He wasn't a happy customer, and surely that wasn't the best first of impressions. The woman wiping her forehead seemed defeated as she slumped down the chair, only to realize a customer had come in. She immediately stood then, greeting the individual with a customer-service smile. "Hello! Welcome. Can I help you with something?"
Nox walked down Main Street with a purple shirt in his hand. He wandered into Silver Lining - Tailor & Clothing Store and soon found his way to the counter waiting for someone to help him. He set the shirt down on the counter, folding out the wrinkles, displaying a section in the shirt where the fabric had been torn. Oddly, this was not from Nox’s doing. He’d loaned the shirt to his friend, who had a wild night out on the town two days ago. Nox did not ask the details of how the shirt got ripped, but, it was one of his favorites and so he wanted to get it repaired.
The woman stood not on the other side of the counter, but right besides him. "Oh, my..." she prompted, as her hand ran over the soft fabric before looking up at her potential customer. "You somehow managed to ruin this one, huh? Do you need it fixed?"
Before he gave an answer, she was already heading towards a wall that was full of fabric rolls, of all colors and textures. It was truly beautiful, and one could only compare it to a spice stall at some bazaar. She lifted the glasses that were dangling down by her neck and put them on, and ran her hand through until she found the right color, and then, the right texture. "I think I can do that one for you!" Charlotte exclaimed, oh-so excited to have a customer.
