She was set through with a face and a name. Deimos. In history the son of the God of War, Ares, a name meaning terror... he'd been locked into a human body now that he was out of hell. He either needed to be sent back or be rehabilitated into heaven. He was somewhere in New York and they'd given the idea to check clubs and bars. The first few places didn't want to let her in without ID, but at the third they wanted to offer her a job. "You need work honey? Nothing unsavory just serving drinks. One of our clients favorites can't come in and you look damn similar." The manager grinned, a cigar between his teeth.

It had been such an important task, giving to such a young angel. Erelah had not been one of God's angel for long, in fact, this was her first time descending to earth. She was reborn in a human body. One with blond hair and green eyes, a slim body and quite short. She had an apartment and money, because that was the power of God. But that did not mean that her life down here would always be so easy, she did have to make it work for herself. Already she was missing heaven. Earth was so.. colorful. Up there it was stark white, everything was soft and sweet, the air always smelling like flowers. But down here.. it smelled like rotten meat and car fumes, there was color everywhere and plenty of things that someone could hurt themselves on. She had known that though, hadn't she? She had learned about earth for years. Knew everything there was, but being here was such a different thing. What she missed most of all? Her wings.. She knew about 'clubbing', had read all about it. That didn't mean she had ever done it herself. She wore a dress that she thought was appropriate. It was a bit shorter then most things she had and it showed a bit more chest. It was white with flowers on it, something that made her look even more innocent with her blond hair. She tried the first few clubs that she found, but was refused at all of them. She didn't have an ID on her. It was the last one that was kind of shadylooking that let her in in the end. "Shady? I thought you.. I'll be damned.." the voice came from beside her the moment she had walked in. As she looked up she was right in front of a shady looking fellow with a big belly. his shirt was too tight and he had a rough beard on his chin. "You need work honey? Nothing unsavory, just serving drinks. One of our clients favorites can't come in and you look so similar I thought you were her for a moment!" he said as he tapped her on the shoulders. "I-I don't know.." Erelah said unsure. "Ooh come on sweet pea! I will teach you the rop

es!" and with that she was whisked away, without much of a second choice. Within mere minutes she was had one of the aprons from the club on and was put behind the bar. "Hey Mary, teach this kiddo how to make the drinks and the POS system." he called out as a redheaded waitress came over. "What is your name then?" she asked annoyed. "Uhm, Erelah." she answered. "What? Ok.. that's won't do sweet heart. You name is Amber tonight." the waitress said. Over the next few minutes she was attempting to show Erelah how to make the drinks, but she was clumsy and uncoordinated. Broke a glass even that needed to be cleaned. After a bit Mary just sighed. "I give up.. Just look pretty kid. That is all that matter anyway. As long as he is happy so is the boss." @Vox

A tray shoved into her hands, she was ushered into a private suit complete with a private pole; currently being used by a top less woman. There was a small crowd most of them too obsessed with each other to pay attention. The only one alone was stretched out on a lounge, head hanging off the back with a melted glass of ice in hand. The immediate knowledge of He's bored, anger, and... empty. So empty it made Erelah's chest ache. At the new person in his space he looked up and made a grabby hand for another drink. Black hair framed his face in a normally smooth cut had he not stuck his head under a sink to wake up, dark eyes fuzzy from liquor. Deimos had bought the club when he came to earth, setting himself at the top and fixing it up into his private domain. A shadow client at best on the days he did stop in to drink. And drink alot.... "Drink. Now." He flexed his hand sighing.

Upon entering that space she could just feel that energy in the air. It gave her goosebumps. Her eyes finding the male that was spread out over that couch. She was ushered forward even more. Was this him? The one they had been talking about? She was to nervous to talk, unsure of the whole energy in that part of the room. In fact, she didn’t know if she liked being there to begin with. It wasn’t till his drowsy eyes suddenly pointed her ways that she recognized him. “Deimos..” It had been a mere whisper, one easily drowned out by everything else that happened in that room. She knew now that she could not leave. He did not belong in this world, he had to leave, he was her task. “Drink. Now.” She looked around herself franticly before realizing that there was a full glass on her tray. She reached for it and then carefully came closer to offer it to him. “H-here you go.” @Vox

He squinted at the name taking the glass from her. "Above or below? Considering you know that name." He tsked sipping the drink. "Spit it out or ill make you." He added then polished off the glass, taking her tray. He tossed it aside with a clatter ignoring the shout of surprise from the two down the booth from him. "If you were a Demon you'd have tried to slit my throat already. An angel, I'm assuming." He pushed up sighing, six foot two at full height. "Also. Tone it down on the light." He hissed leaning in her face. "You might as well look as inept as you act." He ordered, trying to get her to look human. @Nakachu

Her eyes went big when she realized her had heard her say his name. She quickly brought her hand before her mouth but it was already to late. She stepped back, but was not in time before he grabbed a hold of the tray and tossed it to the side. She gasped and turned her head to the side, expecting him to hurt her. He was a Demon after all. Once he got up to his feet, he was only more intimidating. Being almost a full foot taller then her, they made an odd pair standing there. Even if her small heels. “Also. Tone it down on the light.” She looked up at him again and then at herself. She had not even noticed the soft glow that her skin seemed to be radiating. It was not something that the humans around them would notice, but to Deimos it was probably pretty bright. She took a few deep breaths and slowly the glow went away again before something bad happened. “Don’t hurt me..” @Vox

He sighed softly pushing his hands flat to settle his mood, digging his nails into his palms as he huffed out breaths. "I'm not. Going to hurt you. I'm just... stressed. After all this time they decide now I'm a problem." He huffed yanking open a side cupboard to get more liquor. "Everybody out! You have about five seconds." He barked as he poured another drink of the amber colored liquor that he was sure made up most of his bloodstream. His little suite slowly emptied till it was just the two of them. "So. What do you want? Because I am not moving." He leaned back on a counter arms half crossed. She's not unattractive. For an angel. he sipped his drink, looking elsewhere in the room to avoid her bright eyes. For a Demon he didn't look at all like she'd been taught. No sygils burned into his skin, no horns, no tail that she could see. Apart from his energy he looked like an exhausted human... @Nakachu
Avatar
She just looked around herself as he barked his order and everyone seemed to just be rushing out the room. The girl that had been on the pole not even bothering to put on her top before she ran out of the room. The door closing and then it was just the two of them left behind. “They want you either up or down.. just not here.” She said to him, deciding to just answer him straight. “You can not stay on Earth..” she said to him even if she still kept her distance. He was not at all what she thought that he would be. They had told her he was a Demon, yet he didn’t look like one. She wondered what that was about. She brushed her hair behind her ear, still nervous being in front of him. “So.. I am need you to do better then.. this..” she said motioning around her. “If you are coming back with me to heaven. This is your chance for a clean slate.” @Vox

He coughed and had to set down the glass, covering his mouth. "They... really tried to give the option of going up?!" He asked incredulous then broke down into drunk laughing, holding the counter. He sunk to sit on the floor back to the cupboards. "They really think... I'd want to go up." He said with a little laugh eyes half closed. "You're not going to leave me alone on this are you?" He realized then sighed dropping his head back like a pouting child. Fuckin angelic babysitter. Pushing up lazily he clicked off the lights to the floor of his suite, padding into a back room. He apparently lived here based on the bed, couch and kitchenette. He was determined to ignore her. Stretching he yanked off his shirt tossing it aside as he went for the bathroom. "Just because I'm assuming you aren't going to leave me alone, sit down. I need a shower." He tsked rolling his eyes and clicked on the TV for her. @Nakachu

She looked at him a little bit annoyed as he seemed to be making fun of her for wanting him to go up. What other choice did she have? Sending him down? That would involve things that.. she would rather not so. No everyone could change, even a Demon. "What? You would rather go down..?" She asked a little bit sarcasticly, getting a little more brave now he didn't seem to want to hurt her. "You're not going to leave me alone on this are you?" The annoyance so clear on his face. "Nope.." a simple answer. Because what other choice did she have? He was her task. She couldn't return to heaven till he was gone from Earth.. and she wanted to go back. She followed him into his room, not caring that he did not like her around. When he suddenly stripped off his shirt she quickly turned, blushing. "I-I am not leaving.." she answered him. As he told her to sit she obeyed and sat down. Her body tense and pressed together as she was still uncomfortable. He is still a Demon after all. she reminded herself. How will I ever make him pure enough for heaven..? @Vox

He turned on the water, mostly showering just to wake up a bit, putting his arms into the wall and his forehead on it. How am I supposed to deal with an angel? I can't just kill her. he put his face into the water for a moment before hanging his head. And she's obviously new. Considering her mindset... he added, then scrubbed his hair. Lazily buffing off with a towel he dragged a brush through his hair, trying to ignore his lack of glamor in the mirror. He could only see his reflection as it was in truth. He came back in a hoodie and sweatpants holding up another smaller one. "Do you want this. Instead of that dress? If you aren't leaving me alone get used to being bored." He raised an eyebrow tossing the hoodie onto the couch by her. He laid down setting a wet washcloth over his eyes. "Especially when I'm Hungover which is... most of the time." He said idly sighing. He wasn't one for purposely pushing the line; psychopathic behavior was at a minimum. Especially when be was exhausted. His anger was one to avoid and he could flip on a dime. "How old are you now anyway? Pre-BC age?" He asked looking beneath the wet cloth. With the crowd gone he let go of a good portion of his body, skin buzzing like electricity was racing across it, eyes fully black with green iris like a halo in a night sky. He had a tattoo of a crescent moon on its side on his tongue. She had been given a rough time line to try and stick to; finish by the winter Solstice if possible. It being a full moon, a rarity of about 20 years between occurrences, all the angels would recollect. Even fallen angels were permitted for the night.... @Nakachu

While he showered she just sat down on that couch. She had her hands between her legs, her shoulders pressed together and raised. She was nervous and unsure. How was she supposed to do this? Before she came down she had felt so prepared, like she could face anything. But landing down on Earth and actually seeing it.. She was overwhelmed. The smells, the colors, the people and more then anything, the energy. Even now she could feel his energy bursting out of that shower, seeping through that closed door and filling the room. An energy of despair, loneliness and bitterness. When he came out her eyes raised to him and she flinched as she threw the hoodie at her. She took it thought and put it over her head, not bothering to take off the dress first. Even if it had been small for him, it was still very big on her, making her swim in it. She had to pull up the sleeves to not drown in it. She didn’t comment on him saying that she would be bored if she stuck around. What was she to say? She didn’t truly understand yet what she was supposed to do. How could she made this guy good? But she would need to figure it out. It wasn’t till he asked her a question that she actually opened her mouth. “34 AC..” She admitted. She was not even 2000 years old. A young angel compared to most being over 6000 years. “I was born to replace a fallen angel..” she explained. One of Gods most loved angels had betrayed him around the birth of christ, eventually being banished from the heavens. It was why the expectations for her were so high. “Why don’t you want to go to heaven?” She asked him then, remembering that he had said that. @Vox

"Why would I want to go back?" He said lightly, realized what he said and added, "Back amongst Angels. They're prideful and full of spite." He looked at his nails before asking, voice soft, "Do they have another angel for the moon, yet?" He looked to her hoping she'd say no for one vain moment. Angels often controlled parts of nature once they showed their worth. But some were given Space, his unfinished project. All angels found solace amongst the stars. How often do I scream at those stars wanting them to hear me.... he realized he was staring and thumped back down. "Nevermind I don't want to know...." he waved his arms huffing. "You may take my bed to sleep. It'll all start catching up to you soon. You can very easily overwork yourself here so don't go nuts on the powers. Because I'll leave you where you drop." He warned. @Nakachu

She looked up at him confused. “Back?” What did he mean back? She looked him over again. Fallen angel? No.. there was no way he was a fallen angel. Fallen angels didn’t become demons and that is what they had called him. And his energy.. that didn’t belong to an angel. Even the fallen ones had light left in them.. but he? No.. he had none left. She had been about to answer his second question when he stated that he did not want to know. She instantly shut herself up. A part of her was still intimidated by him. The energy he erupted from himself just felt.. wrong to her. Slowly that light glow to her skin was starting to return, her natural way of protecting herself against him. As he mentioned the bed she looked over to it. “I am good..” she said. She needed to make sure he behaved, she needed to convert him. “Why are you worried about me anyway?” She asked then, the realization suddenly dawning on her. Most others would have tried to kill her by her, send her back to heaven by force. Surely not invite her to their home and offer their bed. @Vox

"Because I'm not getting in worse trouble by getting one of their new angels killed." He pushed up to sit, "Do you even know how to get back on your own. I'm going to assume, no. And I'm damn sure not taking you." He leaned closer to her, squinting lightly at the glow. "Besides if you stay out here youre staying where I can reach..." he took her chin softly in his fingers, barely hard enough to be considered holding her. He leaned as if he intended to kiss her but had no plan to, hoping it'd send her scrambling to the one room that locked in his suite; being his room. He'd let go if she tried to move, letting her despite his wish not too. She was too much. Laughing softly he flopped back flat on his couch sighing. Just last until the Solstice and then talk to Aerenos about getting her back into heaven safely. I can't trust the kill method. Might strand her here.... he looked through blurry eyes at his ceiling, drifting off. His suite was empty compared to the norm. In his room held a singular picture of two boys and a man standing behind them. Knickknacks were spread out to fill a space way too big for them; a statue of Atlas holding the world that he'd sanded the paint off and repainted white, several books of languages, a gyroscopic compass... Everything else was obsessively clean that it looked more like an IKEA than a lived in room apart from the alcohol bottles that covered open counters and his desk. The room had multiple locks including deadbolts. @Nakachu

She couldn't help but give him a set of angry eyebrows as he asked her if she knew how to get back on her own. "I-I am not allowed to go back till I bring you.." she said. Yet he was right and she was not sure how she was supposed to get back. She had figured that God would bring her back up once she had completed her task. She suddenly felt so underprepared for her time here.. even worse then she had before. When he reached for her chin she gasped and tried to turn away, but even if his hold was gentle, it was enough to not let her turn away from him. As he started to lean in closer her hands came out instintively to try and keep him away from her. If his hope was that it would make her jump then he was right. She did jump up from that couch and put more distance in between them. She watched him just flop over on the couch, laying down on his back and staring at the ceiling. She didn't trust him, didn't even know how to start. Maybe he should get sober first.. she thought. She eventually did move to the other room finding his bed that he had offered to her. She climbed into it and just sat down as she looked around. It had the bare minimum and it honestly did not look like he spend much time there at all. She looked around to find the little knickknacks at his desk. She wondered why they were there. Her eyes falling on the picture of the two boys and man, wondering to who they were. It made her realize how little she knew about him. "How do I make him better.." @Vox

She woke to music in the little apartment, her having fallen asleep before she realized, the heavy smell of food in the air. He was standing barefoot at his kitchenette humming to the music, neatly peeling a potato in his palm. He'd already cracked into a new bottle, the clear liquor swirling with gold dust. "Но, Фатхер фор фуцкщ Схут. Итс ан ангел. Ыес тхат кинд..." he sighed his phone pinned between his shoulder and his ear. Sighing softly he flipped the knife in his fingers as he argued on the phone. Eventually he kept cutting the potato and dropped it into a pan. "Well thanks for nothing bastard!" He yelled into the phone hanging it up and set his phone down onto the counter. "Bastard..." he huffed picking up a green pepper and slicing it to be put in the pan. When he turned and saw her he near jumped out of his skin, "Fucking hell!" He bent double to catch his breath before continuing on to his fridge. "I wasn't sure what you liked so I just made a recipe online." He pulled out a half gallon of milk, smelled it suspicious, and continued when it smelled fine. "You'll be going back up home. I found someone who will take you." He made her a plate of an omelet with peppers and potatoes setting it down before grabbing his own. @Nakachu

She had not even noticed that she had fallen asleep. Still dressed in that big hoodie with the dress underneath. She was not even underneath the blanket, her head resting on nothing but her arm. She shook awake as she heard the music, sitting upright instantly. She looked around her and it took her a moment to realize where exactly she was. The assignment.. that’s right.. Deimos.. She got up from the bed and walked to the door. Slowly she peeked around the corner. Her blond hair a mess around her and the dress crawled up underneath that hoodie as she pulled it down. She was surprised when she saw him, peeling that potato and cutting it in pieces. It was only when her eyes landed on the bottle of liquor that her eyes narrowed a bit. I need to get him to stop drinking if I want to help him.. She listened to his conversation at the phone and wasn’t sure what she could do about that and didn’t want to interrupt. So she just stayed where she was. When he turned and jumped she jumped along with him. “What?! You took me here!” She said to him, annoyed slightly in the scare that he came her. “I.. I am not picky.” She answer him as she walked closer a bit unsure. As he turned his back to her she took her shot to take the bottle on the counter and hide it behind her back. “You’ll b going back up home. I found someone who will take you.” Her eyes went bigger as he said that. She almost dropped the glass bottle to the ground, just barely hanging on to it. “I.. I can’t go back up! I have not completed my task!” @Vox

"I dont give a fuck. Also don't drop that it has literally gold in it." He noted, setting down the plates. "I can see almost entirely around myself." He explained lightly. "Only blind spot is directly behind me." Sitting down at the table, he sat to eat. "And I don't care if your task is done or not. I'm not going up nor down so there isn't any point." Eating silently, he ignored her probable stating at him. "Eat. Else I'm going to eat yours." He ordered pointing with his fork to the seat across from him, then went back to morsesly picking at his plate. Stop looking at me like that.... Makes me guilty... he popped a bit of omelet in his mouth setting his cheek in a palm. "I can't enjoy my life with you lurking around trying to babysit me." He rolled his eyes, lashing out annoyed. @Nakachu

She jumped at he had seemed to know that she was hiding the bottle behind her back. She reluctantly placed it back on the counter, but did put the cap back in place before she made her way over to the table. “Well I do care. I can’t go back without completing my task. The matter of the fact is that neither of us have a choice in the matter..” she complained as she sat down at the table. His demanding way of telling her to eat didn’t sit right with her, yet she did as he said and took a bite of her omelette. It was nice, with the right kind of spices and vegetables in it. She was actually a bit grateful for it. “Well, you are going to have to deal with it, because I am not going back. I am not failing my first task. God entrusted me with it..” and He had promised that if she completed it that she would finally be appointed a domain.. something she had been waiting for since she had been created. @Vox

"God can currently suck it." He tsked focusing on his plate, "the favoritism and complete disregard for his angels are just... impossible." He got up from the table dropping his half full plate on the counter. "Apollyon will be here in an hour to get you." He stated, as there would be no continued argument. Apollyon was the only one who would speak to him, least of all help him out. He was known as the only link between angels and the other species, considering he himself was a half breed angel and human. He locked himself into his room, clicking through his cellphone. Did they really send an angel to me because of my problem with Jack... he rubbed his face sighing. I want a drink... hed been avoiding even thinking of the other for over a few years. They're both the cheerful type... @Nakachu

"Don't you dare speak of him that way!" She suddenly came up to defend her Father in the heaven. Sure he was not wrong.. She was the new Angel, the young one, the small one. Every single Angel had stories written about them in the great books, but not Erelah.. her name never appeared. It was like she didn't even exist. It was why she wanted her own domain, no needed her own domain. She had to show that she wad worth something. She got up from her seat and almost sprinted at him as he made for his room. "I am not leaving! I am not leaving without you!" She shouted at him before he closed the door before her. She screamed one more time at the door before she sat herseld down in the couch. "You stupid... arrogant.." she huffed in a pillow. Her eyes fell back on the counter top, finding that bottle that was still on it. She got up and walked to it, uncapping it and in an act of pure annoyance and perhaps childlike frustration at being send away she poured it down the drain. Determined to find any other bottle hidden in the house and do the same. @Vox

"Yeesh... smells like hatred in here." He leaned into the doorframe lazily waving his hand in front of his face. "I dont think we've really met. My names Apollyon." He smiled sticking out a hand to shake. "I work in a different department. Specifically communication. Wheres Dee-dee?" He asked chipper as he passed by her looking around Deimos' apartment. He passed the counter then backtracked to pick up Deimos' abandoned plate to finish. "I'm surprised they sent you here for a first mission. They've kinda stopped trying to deal with him anymore." He popped some more of the omelet in his mouth.

"Why are you eating my breakfast?" He tsked passing them both and Apollyon grinned. "You left it behind." He shrugged. Deimos rolled his eyes and went looking for his liquor. He noticed the gold in the drain a moment later. "Little bitch!" He gripped the edge of the steel sink and the metal buckled, his black hair raising like a dog's hackles.

She had still been pouring out the contents of the bottles when she heard a voice behind her. She spun around instantly, gasping in surprise as she grabbed into the counter for support. “H-hi..” she said a bit unsure. “Erelah.” She said, telling him her name after he introduced himself. She watched him walking through the place like he owned it and picking up the plate to finish it. “Dee dee?” She asked, taking her a moment to understand. “Deimos? He is in..” but as she pointed he was already in the opening of the door again. She instantly flinched back a bit when she saw he was still in a bad mood, especially when he came closer to her. Him noticing that she had poured out his drinks scared her but she did stood her ground. “I did you a favor! You need to stop drinking!” She said to him, but once that metal bucked under his grasp she shied back towards Apollyon, just to see him storming off again. Once that door had closed she turned towards Apollyon. “I can’t leave.. I can’t!” She said to him. “I need to get him off Earth. They finally gave me a task, I can’t mess it up the first day!” She said to him. “Please Apollyon.. you know him better. How do I help him?” @Vox

"They give everyone a failure on their first mission. I'm guessin cuz you're His new Morningstar, they wanted to set you up real hard. Deimos is permitted to heaven whenever he wants. There's no law keeping him out." He hopped to sit on the counter with his breakfast. "Deimos hates that place now. After Jack passed away he refuses to even look at it." He said softer to keep the other from hearing. "I won't take you off earth, just to a place you can stay so you aren't alone here. Cuz he obviously frightens you." Apollyon hopped down off the counter then started on Deimos' dishes for him, cleaning like one would care for a loved one. He picked up a bottle of wine she'd pulled from his cupboard then tucked it in his bag. "This is too nice to dump in the drain..." "The way he is you try to get him to change he's going to run in the opposite direction. Anything he thinks comes from management, he fights. You were sent by management so he wants nothing to do with you." @Nakachu

She couldn't help her confusion as he spoke about Deimos being able to go back to heaven anytime he wanted. But.. they told me he is a demon.. she thought to herself as she looked to the door of the room he had locked himself in. "That still doesn't mean I can just go back.." she said in the end. As he said he would not take her away from Earth but just somewhere away from him she sighed. Maybe it was better.. he did frighten her and she needed more of an idea who he is before she could help him. "Fine.." she said as she hugged her hands around herself. She watched him take the bottle of wine and then just walked off with him. "Who is Jack?" She asked. Figuring she would gather some information. @Vox

"Jack was his twin. They grew up together, worked together. Everything was for him." He said softly pulling out his cellphone showing a picture. "I like to think I'm good friends with Deimos but it's been a long while." He smiled, a picture of Deimos and him with a third man. All of them looked to be about 16 at oldest. He led out into a stairway then up for the roof. "Jack regulated his mood so much. Boy needed constant care so Deimos always had something to do I suppose. Both of them wouldn't have been allowed to further themselves without the other but together they even got a domain." He opened the door, holding the top and riding the door open. He held out his hands to her, wide dove like wings spreading, near twelve feet from tip to tip. "I'm going to jump us to the other building. If you're ready." @Nakachu

She looked up at him in surprise when he talked about Deimos having a twin. She did not know about that, nobody had told her. Once he turned the picture to him she looked at it. “You are the person from the picture..” she said almost in a whisper. She would follow him up to the roof. Each step that she climbed seem to thicken how she was thinking about this. Had she been wrong about Deimos? She had been told that he was a Demon, that he needed to return to hell. She had known that heaven was an option as well, yet not everyone up there had seemed to agree. It wasn’t till the domain was mentioned though that she looked up at him in confusion. “Demons don’t get domains..” she said, but mostly to herself. She was missing something in this story, but she just didn’t know what. They made it to the top and walked to the edge of the roof. She wondered what they were doing there. Somehow the spread of his wings made her jump, her eyes wide in surprise. Her had almost instantly going to her own back, where her wings used to be. A pang of jealousy running through her. She missed her wings. Yet she stepped forward and took his hands so that she could hold on for him. @Vox

"Naw. But he wasn't always classified that way." He stated lightly as they'd made their way up the stairs. "And if it's the photo in his room you're talking about, that's his brother and father from when we were kids." He smiled. Once she took his hands he closed his eyes, his wings half arched around them. His rings briefly formed as circles of golden dust about them shimmering in the dim light of the morning. She opened her eyes to find herself in the living room of a small house, surrounded by trees. "This is my house. For when I'm stuck here. It'll be a good place for you to run out of for now and I'll even set up a point for you so you can get back to his club." He smiled walking for the kitchen. His house was full of books. Desks and tables ladened with volumes. Tomes stacked in towering spires in the corners. Shelves sagging beneath the weight. His wings folded away at his back. Angels on earth tended to have problems with their wings. Demons hunted them to take them, humans hunted for them. It was safer to hide them before trips to earth but Apollyon, being strong as he was, never did. Nor did he leave his rings, weapon relics for the strongest angels. He went to a side room with mirrors on the walls, setting up one to link to Deimos' club.

As she closed her eyes for the jump she would hold into Apollyon tightly. She felt that rush of energy around her as they moved and once she opened her eyes again, they were in the middle of a living room. She looked around in awe at all the books and tomes that were spread around. “Wow..” she said softly. She would love to spend time here and just read. Seeing Apollyon like this made her realize how powerless she was in this place. Where he had been send with his wings intacts, his rings still around his fingers.. She had come with none. Even if she could manipulate humans in small ways, she was powerless before Deimos. She had nothing but her wits to try and convince him to come with her up. “Apollyon?” She asked then, catching his attention. “Why do you think the Father send me? Could he not have send someone with more.. experience?” @Vox

"Orders don't come from Father anymore." He said softly, pausing in his work. "We haven't heard his will since... since Lucifer I think. You were the last to hear him." He set down the mirror leaned on the wall. She'd gotten her mission told to her through paperwork... even his angels didn't talk to him. "My guess is they needed to try with the solstice coming up. Especially with the full moon being the same day." He noted. "They'd like someone from that domain again. It's never been reassigned and he was the last one. Him and Jack." @Nakachu

“What do you mean..?” She asked unsure. She had always believed that the Higher Angels worked from the word of God.. that is what they had told her. That it was Gods will that she would go on this journey, to do this task for him. Had they lied to her? “But why would they need Deimos for that? Can’t they appoint a new angel? Why would they want a demon to come back?” She asked him, she felt so unsure. She had to sit down. So many things that she had believed to be true were now being said had been a lie all along. “I.. I thought this was my test..” she admitted. @Vox

"We... we hid alot from you. You are young but... you want a domain like a big kid you hear the big kid problems." He huffed pushing back his bangs. Only then did he truly look as exhausted as he felt. Pinching the bridge of his nose he sunk into another seat. "Half of us don't even remember what he sounds like. We never expected another angel and we woke up one day to you and...." he shook his head gently. "Uriel was so excited he didn't eat for a week, sitting staring at the sky waiting to hear his voice with baby you in his lap. I had to bring you food because he wouldn't remember." He laughed softly looking near tears. "Everything we've been doing is just to wait for him. Wait until he talks to us again..." he brushed back his hair with shaking hands. "I hope. If you do somehow make progress with Deimos, it'll catch his attention and, and, and...." he trailed off head in his hands. He sat that way for a while and she eventually realized he'd fallen asleep, tears running between his fingers as he cried in dreams. Apolyon was the second eldest out of everyone. Lucifer was made first, then Gabriel, then him. An angel of wind, flight, transport, and messages he worked between the angels on earth and kept them up to date with heaven. He even dipped into hell to keep the link with fallen angels. The mirror he'd set up showed the stairwell of Deimos' building, a similar mirror tucked away behind some boxes. No one could see angel mirrors unless you had some of the bloodline, meaning he didn't have to guard one too close... @Nakachu

She had always wondered why she was so much younger then any other angel. She was a late bloomer, a second lay of God. She had nobody her age, only the elders. And because of that she had always been treated that way as well. The younger sister, the one who needed protection, the one who could never be part of the group and what they faces. So when he admitted that a lot had been hidden from her, she honestly could not act like she was surprised about it. But more then ever she now wondered why she had been born. Did God have a plan with her? Had he just felt like it? Perhaps she had even been an accident.. she did not know. As Apolyon suddenly drifted off she looked up just to find him having fallen asleep. She could not help but smile softly. She walked over to him and wiped his tears away gently as she draped a blanket over him. “I will try my best..” was all she could say, yet she still did not know what she could do to tame the demon that was called Deimos. But if he had once been an angel. How bad could he really be? She walked into the other room, the one with the mirror and reached out with her hand to touch one. She phased right through ad held her breath as she stepped into it, closing her eyes. Once she opened them again she was back in that ally close to Deimos’ building. Would he even let her in? She walked right to the stairwell and started to climb it till she was in front of a black door. She knocked. @Vox

There was people in his suite again, allowing the club to use his space. He liked the noise to drown out the thoughts in his head. His apartment was thoroughly locked, lingering in the open lobby of the upper floor. Itd been originally part of the club before he'd bought the place. He was sitting with some people playing cards but it appeared to be strip poker as he was missing a shirt, one of the others their shoes, and one of the girls had both such items on their side. Deimos had two long scars down his back, indicative of fallen angels, and down his spine tattoos of the moon in its cycles. He cussed softly as he lost again and lost his belt, tossing it over the table. She caught sight of the clock and realized the brief intermission to Apollyon's home had eaten up several hours despite such a short time there. Deimos glanced up when he saw her and tossed his apartment key to give her a safe place to retreat to, assuming the 'depravity' would bother her. @Nakachu

The busy of the nightclub was once more something that she did not enjoy. At least this time it seemed that she had been accepted to be part of Deimos his club and was let in without much issues. She soon spotted him sitting there, his shirt tossed to the side with some others who also were missing some items of clothing. She observed it for a small bit, wondering what it was they were doing. The scars on his back did not go unnoticed as he removed his belt and her eyes narrowed a little bit. Was he really a Fallen Angel? Why had they called him a demon to her? She finally came closer and was almost surprised when the key was tossed her way. She recognized it from before, the key to his house. For a moment she considered it. But the she shook her head and instead motioned for him to move aside. If he did she would take the spot that he gave her, if not she would simply sit down at the narrow space that had been there, pressing close against Deimos in the process. “No..” she simply said. “Teach me how to play.” @Vox

"Its strip poker. You don't want to get naked so." He slid over on the bench tsking at his shitty cards. "Besides he barely knows how to play." The woman teased and he rolled his eyes, "Are you his girlfriend?" At the others question, Deimos choked on his drink and coughed into his arm, waving his other hand. "Why the hells would you think that?" "Because normally you don't toss your key to a woman without joining them there. Most of the time without pants." She noted eyebrows raised. "She's a.... friend of Apollyon." He stated about as much as he would give. "Apollyon has friends?" She laughed softly joking. @Nakachu

“Teach me anyway!” She complained almost instantly as he told her that she did not want to play. She was going to make no process at all if she was not even going to be around him. She could not hide in his room and just stay there forever hoping to complete her task that way. “Are you his girlfriend?” She instantly looked up with a blush. “No, I am not!” She instantly said at the same time that Deimos asked why the hell they would think that. The explanation just made her scowl at him. “I am not a friend of Apollyon.” She complained as he tried to make her sound even less like she belonged. If anything.. Apollyon was like big brother to her, having raised her since she was a baby angel. “I am here to make him good enough for heaven.. Father send me.” Even if the sentence was perhaps a bit weirdly named, it suddenly made her sound like a smaller sister that was send by their parents to get her brother away from the nightclub. “Now hand me some cards and teach me how to play!” She complained. @Vox

"These are humans easy on the heaven shit." He hissed under his breath leaning to her. He generally told her how to play, skipping over the stripping part to play the game. She quickly realized he was losing on purpose once he explained the game. He was counting even unintentionally, keeping tabs of everyone's cards. But he wanted to play and be amongst them. "Play your four set." He advised when she paused, setting his cheek on his fist. He was tipsy buzzed drunk, hair in a leonine mess about his head from the humidity. "Whyd you come back, mm? Just to annoy me?" @Nakachu

She would pay attention to him when he explained the game to her. It didn’t take to much time to start to get a hold of what he was trying to tell her, yet she did not keep tabs on other peoples cards or anything like that. She was simply playing the game and through Deimos’ hints, she didn’t lose any clothing in the first couple of rounds. But it did indeed not go lost on her that he was not doing the same for himself. He was not playing the cards like he should, making weird choices. And she did narrow her eyes on him a few times, wondering what he was doing.. But she didn’t comment on it just yet. “Why’d you come back mm? Just to annoy me?” His question took her by surprise, yet she just answered it the most simple way she could. “If you thought that bringing me to Apollyon would change my mind about needing to help you, you are wrong. I got a task and I am still planning to fulfill it.” She said in an almost cocky manner. “So you better get used to me being around you.” @Vox

"Mmm...." he muttered a sound tossing in his cards. "I'm done playing. Clothes please." He winked to the woman, taking back his shirt and his belt. "Lets go Angel. I have shit to do." He stated back to her, tugging on his shirt and relacing his belt. At least he wasn't trying to hide away from her again. He led down a back stairway, "If I'm stuck with you, you might as well ask your damn questions. I know you have them. And I'd rather answer than you go to Apollyon who doesn't know shit." He tsked stepping down into the parking garage, his heels clicking on the cement. @Nakachu

"But we were playing!" She complained to him as he suddenly decided that he was done and motioned for his shirt and belt. She puffed up her cheeks before she put her cards on the table. A hand that might have lost her this round and resulted in the first loss of clothing. But they would never get there. She would follow him to where he was going, down that staircase. His strides much bigger and faster then hers and she had to really try in order to keep up with him. "Why did they say you are a demon? Apollyon said you used to be like me." It was the first question that just left her mouth and she couldn't stop it. @Vox

"I was. Me and my brother. After he died I couldn't bear to go back. They tried to force me and I fought." He tsked softly sliding his hands in his pockets and unlocking his Porsche. "Get in." He ordered, sliding into his seat. "I am one of the elders, when there was no difference between angels and demons." He turned to back out his car, popping on his seat belt. "If you're so determined to change me you have to understand what I am." He said softly, driving. @Nakachu

She tried to understand him. Yet as an Angel who had been coddled and loved for being the youngest, and it being her first time down on earth.. she simply couldn't see why he would not have gone back up to the heavens first chance he got. So all she could do was raise an eyebrow at him. As he ordered her into the car she hesitated for a moment, but then figured if he wanted to do anything he would have done it already. So she got into that seat, folding her dress neatly underneath her. "An elder..? No.. that can't be.." surely she would have read about him in the big archives? She had loved spending time there, reading the books about the old days and the old people. The more he talked the more unsure she became. Confused even. @Vox

"That hurts more than I expected." He half laughed in soft emotional pain masked, pulling out of the parking garage. "I was an original... before Lucifer fell. I dont fully remember that far back but. I was around..." he said softly, focusing on the road. "When I came down here, I gave up alot of my own memory. Common practice. Helps us assimilate to humanity." He said softly heading down town. @Nakachu

She still found it hard to believe. An original? That would put him at the same time as Caine. But she had never heard Caine talk about him either. Not that Caine talked much to begin with.. she had always just found him to be grumpy and annoyed. Perhaps it was just because they were the first.. maybe that was why Deimos was so grumpy as well. The thought made her chuckle a small bit to herself. “That still does not explain why they told me to go after a demon though..” she said then, not understanding that part. They had been clear to her. Get this demon, send him back to hell or convince him to come to heaven. Why would they not tell her he had Fallen? It seemed like such a crucial detail. @Vox

"They don't know how to control my domain is my guess. They either want to give it to you, or get me to come back. Neither will work well." He said lightly driving, focusing on the road. They went to the garden downtown, a massive arching dome of glass. Tucking a mask over his lower face and tieing up his hair, he got out. "You want to know my problems fine. You can see my problems." He led into the garden, the building hot and a greenhouse. Flowers the size of their hands bloomed and let out their sweet scent. Butterflies danced silently. "Do you know what happens when an angel dies Erelah?" He asked softly looking down the pathway to the left standing still. Erelah could tell quickly why he covered his face. A man was gardening, humming softly, and looked identical to Deimos. "They are reborn as humans..." he said softly. Jack passed them with a soft smile without a word. @Nakachu

She made no comment about what he said about controlling his domain. Even if the bit where he said they needed either of them to take it did not fall on deaf ears. She had wanted her domain for so long.. but now somehow knowing that it had belonged to Deimos.. it made her feel strange. She followed him into the garden. “Do you know what happens when an angel dies Erelah?” She looked up to him and shook her head. Did angels even die? She guessed they did. Sh had been warned about that hadn’t she? She had somehow never given it thought.. she thought she would just vanish. “They are reborn as humans…” Her eyes went wide as she looked at the human before them. It could have been Deimos twin.. and perhaps she thought it was. He was watching over his brother.. just in a different life. “Does he know..?” She asked him as she looked up to Deimos. “Is this why you won’t come back to heaven? Because you don’t want to leave him?” @Vox

"He doesn't.... how am I supposed to explain an identical stranger to him." He sat down on the bench, head back and letting his fingers skim the bottom of the leaves above him. "I come here alot. He works here." He looked over lazily, pretending he wasn't watching him as he went in and out of a shed for supplies. "When he died, they picked out this family for him to be born to. Awful people. An awful life. One of their own angels died and they tried to punish him with that?" He sighed softly. "I can't leave because I stole him. I made him a new body and a fake life where he could be happy. If I go back I have to face judgment for that. Jack would have to. For something and someone he doesn't even know. I can't and won't do that." He shook his head gently. @Nakachu

“But.. he can see you right? That you look so close to him..” she could only say. Their likeness was so canny between them. You could hold up a mirror and not know there was a mirror there. Yet Jack didn’t even seem to awknowledge his existence. Like he knew that Deimos existed and came here often, but didn’t understand why he would do that. As he continued to explain she looked up in surprise to him. He had claimed a soul? He had forced it to be born into a body that was not meant for it. She was surprised that he was even still standing.. That kind of thing usually would result in a very unstable human. They often got rid by illness or sudden death. To see Jack being so healthy.. it was a testament to how powerful Deimos had really been in his prime. But it also dawned at her that if he was unwilling to go because of Jack.. then what could she even do to convince him? “Then why would they send me here.. surely they know you won’t go back.” And as she spoke she might already have found her answer. They didn’t expect him to come back. They had wanted to get rid of him, to banish him to the flames of hell so his domain could finally be free.. so it could be claimed by another. @Vox

"Now you see the problem." He said softly. It felt good to get it off his chest. Apollyon was too flighty to speak to and he couldn't be sure the angel wouldn't try to kill Jack. Erelah was safe. And if one of their kin came for Jack he knew who told... his grip tightened on his pants. Jack gently caught her attention, "Are you okay ma'am?" He smiled. He was smaller than Deimos. Had a fuller rounder face. "You've been over here for a bit..." Deimos smiled softly, "And no. He can't see or here me." He smirked softly as Jack was called away by a coworker and he excused himself. "You probably looked insane talking to a bench." @Nakachu
Avatar
She couldn’t help the confusion that played on her face as Jack suddenly came over to talk to her. “Are you okay Ma’am?” Was he serious? But then Deimos told her the bit where he could not see or hear him. “Yes, I am alright, thank you.” She said to him, but before he could turn around she felt like she couldn’t just let him walk away. Instead she grabbed his hand and held it in her own. The small glow of her becoming visible, though only for Deimos. “You have a beautiful garden here Jack.” She said to him with a smile as she just shared that positive energy with him. It would create a small bit of euphoria that would run through his body. “You have a wonderful night.” And with that he would let go of his hand and motion for Deimos to follow her back outside. @Vox

He got up to follow her, hands in his pockets. "Thank you." He said gently sunning his face in the afternoon light. "Its nice to see him smile." He added, stepping aside for a woman and her two kids.
