Obasi Nox BOT 26-Oct-22 08:45 AM
A terrible chill was in the air; the type of feeling that Obasi was completely unfamiliar to but had started to get used to in this new residence of his. His physiology had grown used to the scorching weather of his homeland but not to the fall weather he was becoming familiar with in this new location. The garments loaned to him by the other settlers who had called this homestead home fitted oddly but still proved inefficient in keeping him completely warm. As a result, he had been just walking around the town hoping a bit of light exercise would keep the heat flowing in his body The homestead was still small in size; it would take a long while before it would rival the nomadic clan of people he and his family once traveled Western Africa with. Though for the moment, less was better than more; it gave the current people a chance to build the foundation of their small community in hopes of building a stable town of sorts. One of the many thoughts as he walked the town’s groups is what this place would look like in a year or maybe two. A slight panic even occurred to him over the thought of having to prepare more crops over time to feed more people. He’d need an apprentice at the very least or helpers; maybe even updated equipment to ensure the produce was sufficient enough to last the people a decent while. This of course was just Obasi’s usual overthinking; the concern of what could be rather than what already is. However, that had already been cared for in the sense of Obasi preparing his short plot of land for the winter months that would be approaching before long. Never would he have imagined it was possible to actually take a break for a season in exchange for the harsh cold that he was sure to deal with soon. **Letting out a breath of fresh air, Obasi finally found himself at the entrance to his makeshift home that differed from the building structures he was used to. Grabbing a seat in front of his home, he rested his feet to look out at the town.
08:45
Lacking in quantity but beautiful to his eyes, the quiet sounds of nature and potentially the striking or two of a hammer nearby was more than enough for Obasi to find comfort with. Finally leaning back a bit, he took in the atmosphere and halted his thinking for a moment just to find solace within himself**

For the most part, the town stood quiet this morning. A gentle light falling on the solid buildings that hadn't woken yet. The tavern down the main road quiet without patrons this early in the day. The blacksmith's shop soon to be fired up and toiling. Most figures were not awake yet in the wee hours of dawn, say for one that sat looking out on the beautiful sight. Well, technically two. She had been up all night, though she had only just returned to the town. Kept mostly to the shadows of the woodland while most others had slept the evening away. The stars had been lovely that night, as the cooler temperatures tended to garner clearer skies and brighter astral shows. The previous evening had been no different for the young woman. She had enjoyed the quiet and the peace that the outskirts of the woods and forests around the homestead had brought to her. Tracking different beasts and animals, keeping herself quietly hidden as she roamed and wandered. This was the way of things for the night for her. And for the most part, she enjoyed it. The tranquility she gained while being on her own was nice though the last night she had felt something new. Something she hadn't expected. Loneliness Perhaps that was why she had decided to take a chance and move to this homestead in the north she had heard about. Perhaps that was why she had traveled so far from home in order to start a new life here. Among strangers that didn't seem so strange as far as she was concerned. At least, in comparison to her, they didn't feel strange in that respect. Now she returned to the sleepy little town in the north, small and ready for growth when more decided to venture forward and claim their own settlements. Either in the homestread she traveled through on her way to town, or in the town itself perhaps as she had. As dawn's light gently fell on the stone street, a quiet clacking sound came from her as she traveled down the deserted main road. It was safe this way, usually, especia

lly this early in the morn. With sharp ears, she kept her attention forward, listening for any disturbance that meant she should run, or hide. Gentle forest green eyes and fur that mimicked the auburn color leaves of the surrounding wood, Tahlia plodded along on all fours, her wolven body light as she made her way back towards her home and shop she had established. It was near time for her to get the ovens stoked and the bread ready for the day. For a moment while she traveled, she believed herself alone. Thought perhaps she was the solitary living being in the town so early today. However her paws stopped and she turned at the only other that seemed awake. What was his name again? I can't recall... She thought to herself, turning her muzzle towards the African born man seated alone in front of his home in town. An ear flicked for a moment, her body frozen on the spot when she realized he was awake, before she continued onward, her pace quickened. It wasn't that Tahlia necessarily disliked people, it was more she understood that most didn't necessarily care for beasts like her. So she made it quickly back home, the little bakery at the end of the lane. 'Crescent Moon Patiserie'. A play on what she was, but also what she sold there for those traveling through town and those who lived among the other homesteaders. Tahlia always left the back window of the shop unlocked and cracked, so she made for it immediately. Her paws brought her to the backside, and quick as she could she leapt into the window and slipped inside the bakery with the softest flick of a bright red bannered tail. The bakery was two stories tall, small in it's form, but enough to have a place to sleep and rest her head upstairs, while she had the shop to mind downstairs. It was near time for the shop to open, and Tahlia would need to change in order to get going with the day. Soon enough, the shop would fill the air with fresh breads, savory confections and sweet treats for patrons to enjoy...

Trandil walked along the path into town, looking at the pouch of coins in his hands, while he walked he gave a soft small hum, trying to give his mind a distraction, so he didn't listen to his deep thoughts telling him to steal the coins, and run. But thankfully the humming was helping keep the thoughts at Bay, more so when he finally did make it to town, seeing multiple people going back and forth as they began their day. He was given the task of going into town, to bring back the finest bread the local Baker could provide for the homestead to share for the next couple of days. This Task was an important one, so Trandil was going to treat it as much, he tightened his hold on the pouch while he held his head high. The homestead had intrusted this mission to him, and he wouldn't let any of his new friends down. Finally making it into town Trandil looked around, he hadn't relized how many buildings has been built since the last time he had been to town. He paused at the entrance of town, looking at everything infront of him, trying to find the correct building. His eyes scanned the surrounding area, relieved when he spotted the Bakery. Building in sight, Trandil took a deep breath walking to the building, hoping the shop was opened. He paused just outside of the door, sniffing the air. He hummed as he let a soft smile fall onto his face, the scent reminded him of his mother, someone he desperately missed, wishing he could feel her hugs, the warmth of her holding him...but since she passed... He shook his head, putting on his normal dull look, as he entered the shop. "Hello? Anyone here?" He asked looking around the shop, as he made his way inside, carefully closing the door behind him. He looked around the building, trying to find some sort of sign that someone was there in the building, and he didn't break in. (edited)

@Kendeline Flower Oops! Sorry! I completely spaced! I'm so sorry Ken! Getting to it now 💜 Go ahead and tag me at the end of your post so I can not be dumb and remember to put the Grp RP on my list of ones to respond back to. 😅 Tahlia had plod up the wooden stairs that creaked a little under her wolfish weight. So far, it was still just barely cracking dawn, though it was good and time for her to be back in her body and begin making the day’s breads. Quiet even though no one else lived with her, she made her way to the loft room on the second floor. Inside, curled in her bed was a sight that always made her take a pause. The gentle gold hair and pale skin, the soft rise and fall of the blankets and the extended hand outside of them in her sleep. It was always weird for her to return to her body like this, seeing it unconscious every time she returned to it. Truly an out of body experience that she didn’t think she’d ever get used to. The room was pretty sparse, there wasn’t a lot that Tahlia owned yet. An average sized wooden bed made of wood with a mattress covered in down and cloth blankets of various colors and patterns. A sheepskin rug lay on the floor, dappled gray instead of the normal off white or black. There was a trunk she also came to the town with in her little wagon, painted with little runic shapes and gaelic symbols. Most of her clothing was in that, though she thought about perhaps asking around town if a carpenter could make her a proper dresser instead. It would help keep her more organized. As she got closer to her own face, the light began to brighten outside and fall gently on her human face. Time to wake, me… The red wolf began to melt in a quiet light of golden ribbons, her paw softly touching the outstretched palm of the human woman in the bed. The ribbons rushed into her skin and flooded her veins before disappearing entirely. Next moment, Tahlia MacTire groaned and fluttered her eyes open in bed. It always took her a moment to adjust to not being a wolf, so she spent it just staring up at her ceiling. After taking a deep breath in and sighing loudly, she threw off her blankets and stood up to dress. Tahlia ran her bakery during the day, making baguette loaves and various other breads both savory and sweet for the town. This morning, she decided to make a honeyed lavender bread as her specialty for the day. She was in the back, pulling out a rack of the first batch of bread when the bell on her front bakery store door rang pleasantly out to alert her. ”Hello? Anyone here?” “I’m in the back! Be out in a moment!” Tahlia called back, her voice a little rough around the edges due to her Irish accent, but otherwise it was sweet like the breads and pastries she made. She took great pride in the presentation of the loaves she made, and this was no exception. Carrying out a batch that had cooled and were ready for sale, the blonde woman strode out of her kitchen to the counter of her bakeshop. She wore a bright red dress with gold accents along the collar and trim, her short blonde hair tied back with a headband of black just so most of it stayed out of her face while she worked. Placing the tray down on a nearby shelf to display them, along with the baguettes, sourdoughs, muffins, scones and biscuits she’d made this morning already, Tahlia wiped her hands of the flour she had on them on her black waist apron and came around the front to greet the elven man who’d stopped by. “Good Mornin’. Sorry ‘bout the wait. How can I help ya?”

Hearing the voice call from the back of the shop, Trandil made a small hum of acknowledgment, Not relizing the other probally couldn't hear him, which happened quite to often, someone would say something and instead of speaking he'd only hum. Walking towards the window in the shop he began looking out at the town, trying to map the scenery. He watched as a family walked down the path heading towards the church, the woman holding a baby close, while the husband held his arm around her waist, helping guide a small child who stood next to him. Trandil looked down at his own hands, tilting his head to the side slightly. Affection in public was another foreign concept he was learning more and more about daily, whether it was a friendly pat on the back, a hug, seeing a couple in the streets walking hand to hand, Trandil found it strange. Growing up in his village, he did see the families show affection, But he was raised to not allow such emotions be seen by the public. But something he needed to remind himself, this wasn't Neverwinter, this was a completely diffrent land then what he was use too, so of course things would be new and strange here. The smells of the Bakery were starting to over take him, stomach growling as he smelt the fresh loaves, and pastries. He closed his eyes, imagining all the diffrent taste goods he would be able to try. Opening his eyes again, he searched his pockets to see if he had anything to purchase something for himself, sadly he didn't have any extra. 'I could get an extra for myself.' He thought to himself. 'Nay, I cannot do that. They have treated me with kindness,I cannot steal.' Thankfully the Owner of the shop emerged from the back, pulling him out of his Trance like state. Turning away from the Window he faced the Baker, having a dull and emotionless look, which could be taken as him being rude, but it was just who he was, emotionless and serious at times, and others confused and ignorant. . "Tha's not a problem. Just made some fresh loaves this morin'." Tahlia responded, a little chipper as she put the ones that were ready on the shelf, and pulled out a small leather bound book. Flipping it open to a blank page, she took a pen nearby and began to write down the order that Trandil was asking for. "Enough for Five grown men? Le's see... I'd say prob'ly need a couple loaves an' about a dozen pastries. These are honey-lavender, nice an' fresh. I'll put one of 'em in too for ya." She said absentmindedly, her accent gentle on her words. As she talked, she began gathering up the different breads she'd mentioned. For the most part, Tahlia was pretty quiet, enjoying her quiet life in this new town and steadily meeting her new neighbors as they filtered in. Three long baguettes, a variety of scones and muffins too before boxing the order up and setting it down on the counter. She was very careful putting the different flavors in the box and tying it with some twine to keep the box closed. "Anythin' else ya need?" She asked, placing the brown paper bag with the baguettes and fresh sweet loaf on top of the pastry box carefully. She noted how he seemed to be a bit nervous or perhaps that's just how he was. Maybe I should introduce myself? She thought before taking a small breath and continuing. "I'm Tahlia, by the way. I'm still new here, so I haven' learned everyone's names yet...Tryin' as I meet 'em when they all filter in to town." @Kendeline Flower (edited)

Trandil's eyes relaxed with relief as he heard the other say it wouldn't be a problem. He gave a small nod and hum as he stayed where he was, watching her gather things for his order. Awkwardly shifting from one foot to the other, he looked around the shop. Noticing little details, like the pattern of the wood on the floor, the twists and turns of the groves. Trandil looked up couriously as the woman came back with the things he has purchased. Giving a small nod, he emptied the pouch again, giving her the payment, before gently taking the bags and boxes. Pausing awkwardly, he looked at the woman he known knows is named Tahlia. He hadn't expected to introduced himself but took it as pratice to get use to this new culture. Setting the boxes and bags down again on the counter, the Elf nodded. "Lovely to make your Acquaintance Tahlia. I am Trandil Reginsson, middle son of the great Cheif Charles Philppe Reginsson of Neverwinter ." He said bowing his head softly. "Aye, we must acquainte ourselves with those around of incase of the unfortunate events of danger, even war." He replied frowning when he slipped into his normal doom and gloom. Tahlia stopped for a brief moment as she began continuing to put out inventory for purchase. She listened intently as he introduced himself, tilting her head a little as he seemed to go from fairly normal to a bit more gloomy. Had it been something she said? She wasn't one to really be too social, but she certainly didn't think she had done something too disrespectful of him. "Well, I'm hopin' it won't come dow' ta tha'." She said softly, a light smile on her face. War wasn't exactly something she knew too much about but what she did know was that it caused bloodshed, was full of violence, and over all was not something that was beneficial to people as a whole. Often her father had gone to skirmishes and left her family alone for weeks on end. The worry it had given to her mother and to herself was indescribable, so Tahlia hoped that this new home she had found herself in would remain as peaceful as could be expected. Even still, she didn't take the introduction as something to be disturbed by. Perhaps he was just cautious and wanted to make sure that those around are peaceful. I can respect that. Tahlia thought, picking up a bag of bread to help him out of the shop if that was all he was purchasing today. Her shop wasn't too terribly big, but it was enough for her to fill with fresh breads and pastries, and even some savory pies when the ingredients were readily available. The carvings she had done herself on the sides of the counter and on the beams of the main shop. Most were runic symbols and some were carvings of wolves running towards the crescent moon. It was the reason for the name after all. "I hope ya don' mind if I call ya Trandil. Tha name o' yours is a little long, and I don' want ta forget a part o' it." Tahlia said with a light hearted chuckle. It wasn't that she wanted to be rude, it was more she was very sure that she wouldn't be able to remember the entirety of his name with the titles attached. So the irish werewolf hoped that just usi

Trandril gave a small nod, frowning softly. He had not realized his introduction was a bit too long as well as strange, but he took no mind to it and answered her.. “Aye, tis my name, Trandil, I only use my full name when introducing myself to strangers. You may call me whatever you wish. Just not anything that is not my real name please, I have no nicknames so fear not Trandil tis fine with me.” he hummed, standing there, holding his hands in front of him. He gave a tilt of his head as he looked at her. “Strange, your community is not taught to prepare for the worst either?" He asked carefully, lifting his hand to gently scratch his chin as he became deep in thought again. Humming softly he nodded. “I suppose my village tis not like others, we were too prepared for things that never came, and it has made me only think of the doom and gloom of this land as well as the things that could happen, so it makes no sense others are not like that, I fear i may be slow to realizing these things as well.” he sighed, carefully running a hand through his hair, looking up at Tahlia. Trying his best to give her a small smile, which turned out to look very awkward and goofy looking. He was trying his best, he really didn't know how to make friends, so this interaction with Tahlia was helping him a lot. "I mean not to cause you discomfort friend Tahlia, war will not make way towards the village. I shall not allow that to happen. The people of this village are too kind and friendly for that to happen. " He promised, not wanting her to worry anymore, that he had already caused her. He hadnt meant to, he needs to remember to not bring up this type of topic again, maybe he could ask the others at the Homestead what he should do. But for now he focuses back on the woman in front of him. "I tend to forget that many people are not like those from my village, back home war, and preparations were always our main topics. Nothing more, nothing less. Learning not everyone wishes to have

these conversations is a tad hard. But I shall not bring it to light any longer." He promised as he gave a firm nod, as if confirming himself. Trandil was mentally kicking himself, he wanted so badly to appear as normal as he could. But it seemed he made a fool of himself. He gently shifted from one foot to the other, biting his lip as he watched Tahlia. Maybe he should bring up a happier lighter topic, maybe then the awkwardness i have caused would vanish. He carefully moved his hands, holding them to his side he gave a soft nod. "How long has your shop been here in the village?" He asked softly, looking around the shop as he hummed softly. "Have you lived here long? You own a lovely shop, I hope it brings you more business and adventures." That was true, he did hope her shop gave her tons of business and Adventures. Not only that, He could only imagine the stories told by travelers who stop to get amazing treats, the grand adventures she was able to hear. He held the bag of pastries and treats close to his chest, looking around curiously. His own question had sparked curiosity in him, he looked to Tahlia with wide eyes as his head tilted to the side, causing his bangs to slightly fall over his forehead. He knew he had to ask or else it would bother him the entire time they were talking. "Do you…receive lots of traveler's here? Do they share their stories of their grand adventures with you? And have you taken part in any of those adventures Tahlia? I would love to hear these stories if you have." @💜𝓕𝓲𝓸𝓻𝔂💜

Eero Hiltunen BOT 06-Jan-23 12:40 AM
As they left the relative safety of the homestead and started down the path towards the true town of the region, Eero found himself feeling naked with only his seax as protection. He trusted the good nature and goodwill of their neighbors, but he had lived long enough to see even the most trustworthy people turn on one another for their own independent fortunes and goals. Still, he trusted Einar in his decision to make their homestead here rather than farther along the river. His friend had never led him astray in their years of knowing each other, so he had no reason to doubt his intentions now. Rubbing his hands together before dropping his left hand to his waist and feeling his coin purse, Eero glanced over as his friend spoke. Humming softly and nodding, he responded in a humored tone, “Oh, and what has been crossing your mind lately?” Chuckling softly, as they continued to walk, Eero’s face drew slightly more serious as Einar spoke of his magic and the difficulties that he was having with it. His words carried heavy implications with them: if he did not have the same control or access to his powers, then the defense of the homestead would surely suffer and be left wanting for it. Glancing over and watching Einar retrieve one of his rolls of herbs, Eero shook his head and chuckled dryly before speaking, “Well, if that is the case, then I had better get to work making defenses. We know our brethren will likely be arriving in the summer months, and we will need to have our strength ready to repel them if they choose our town as their target.” Looking over and seeing the small rings of smoke that followed his friend on the path, Eero chuckled as he watched the breaths of Ilmatar play with them and displace them. He was aware of the lack of a horse and cart that they would need for their heavier goods, but he had not anticipated buying more than he could keep at his shop until a horse could be gathered for the task. .
00:40
Grinning as his arm was nudged, Eero nodded happily as he looked down the path towards the town that was coming into view. He had helped to fix an abandoned building with the hopes of turning it into a successful shop, but so far, he had been concentrating on upkeeping the arms and armor he had come here with. It would take a concerted effort to get up and running and known for making regular products, but he was willing to take the steps required. His voice came in a confident tone as they walked together, “I’m proud to say that all of the reconstruction has finally been completed, and the forge itself is gathering the needed supplies to get fully up and running. I’d be happy to show you, but it is going to have to wait. I can smell food on the wind, and I feel famished. I think I can already taste some of Tapio’s treats.” As they neared the main gate of the town, Eero smiled and felt a little more at ease to see that the gate was held open with only two guards standing on the palisade walkway above it. Nodding to them as they approached, he felt a sense of relief in knowing that the town was safe and profitable enough to not need to be closed up and guarded. He had been coming before the sun rose and leaving well after dusk while working on his shop, so the gates had been closed and needed opening each time. Continuing deeper into the town, he breathed in deeply and turned his head immediately in the direction of the bakery that he had seen being outfitted. He had yet to be able to get any food from there; each time he came to work on his shop, he ate only what he brought with him and was too focused on the work at hand to socialize. Now, though, with the time to spend his gold and meet the locals, he walked towards the bakery and motioned for Einar to follow him. He could see a sign written in the local language with bread on display beneath it that carried with it a lovely scent. .
00:43
Stopping outside of it, he could hear a few voices inside and waited patiently to see if they were voices concluding business or only starting it. He could tell from the exterior that there was room enough for more than one inside, but he felt he was going to be most comfortable if he didn't push into the building. Kneeling down next to the platter of breads, he breathed in slowly and grinned when he smelled how good the loaves were. Sighing softly, he stood up and walked to one of the opened windows, his eyes looking over the bread and treats on display as he waited for his friend. @ᛊᚲÁᛚᛞ Also pinging y'all so you know people are nearby. @💜𝓕𝓲𝓸𝓻𝔂💜 @Kendeline Flower

Inside the main gate was a site to see. With local shops beginning to open and some of the towns people milling about Einar felt a bit of relief. There weren't many times he could remember walking to a market without screaming and the heat of flames all around him. The scent of baking treats snapped the old taste of blood from Einar's mouth as quickly as his memories had brought it. Eero had waved him over to a place that looked to be an incredible bakery while inspecting what Einar thought to be breads of some kind. Looking around for a city guard he dropped his herb roll and crushed in beneath his boot, picking it up and slipping it inside a pocket of his cloak. For as courteous and stoic as the guards at the gates where letting them in, Einar wasn't going to test his luck so soon with any local law. Beaming now, he looked to his friend and clapped him lightly on the back as he approached. "A fine town indeed to build your shop! With a place like this, I'll surely need to bring the wagon every time." Einar reached for the platter of goods and picked up one, inspecting the loaf and enjoying the fragrance that drifted around the two men. "These are quite interesting, have you met the baker yet Eero? I'd be happy to try and get some supplies moving out of the homestead if it meant having some of this to eat for feasts!" Ripping a piece off, Einar absent mindedly tossed the piece into his mouth. The flavour was incredible and he couldn't believe it was just a simple bread loaf. Einar tore off another piece, then noticing there were faint voices coming from inside, felt a little foolish for helping himself before paying.
04:21
"It sounds as if there are already some customers getting the best goods before we've even seen them, perhaps we go inside ourselves and pay for my breakfast?" He laughed as he held out the loaf and offered some to Eero now. He hoped that the baker wouldn't be too upset with his self indulgence but expected a stern word. Einar scratched at the twisting ink beneath his clothes then waved to a passing pair of guards. He did intend to pay for the loaf and so he hoped they would continue on their way so Eero and himself could see what other treats were hidden within, along with the faint sound of patrons and the baker.

”These are quite interesting, have you met the baker yet Eero? I’d be happy to try and get some supplies moving out of the homestead if it meant having some of this to eat for feasts!” The sound of conversation was what perked her ears a little, her sharp hearing granting her a little more clarity than most. A soft pink traveled over her nose, a little embarrassed at the remark. She didn’t necessarily consider her baked goods to be so grand as to be used for feasts, but she was honored at the thought. Quietly, she clicked the door open from the inside, still listening to the one sided conversation on the other side of the hardwood door outside her shop. ”It sounds as if there are already some customers getting the best goods before we’ve even seen them, perhaps we go inside ourselves and pay for my breakfast?” “Dat’s usually how it works…” She said softly, her arms crossing in front of her apron as her foot held open the bakery shop door. “Most pay for that before they eat it.” A playful smirk rose on the woman’s face, her head shaking a little and ruffling that soft curly blonde hair about. It wasn’t like Tahlia minded too much that Einar had decided to sample the bread she’d had available for purchase. She more or less wanted to be sure that he would pay for it instead of taking it and running. By the looks of them though, Tahlia didn’t exactly want to pick a fight. In comparison, she was shorter than the three men that had decided to grace her bakery with their presence, the two who’d just shown up this morning looking a little rougher around the edges than her newest patron Trandil did. “Happy ta meet you… Me name’s Tahlia by the way.” The words were kind and gentle. Still rough with her accent though so she had to speak a little slower to ensure she could be understood properly. Making useful breads and pastries for folks, filling them with the warmth and care she used in order to make them, was certainly something that Tahlia enjoyed doing. It made her happiest when she knew that she could provide for those around her, which was why money wasn’t the first thing on her list of desires. "Other than pilferin' me special o' the day..." Tahlia said with a chuckle on her lips, clearly not actually agitated at the patrons who just couldn't help themselves to the samples she'd left outside. Trandil gave a small nod when she mentioned she hadn't made the treats he had spoken of. He couldn't help but give a small smile as he nodded. "I can write thee recipe down for ye if ye'd like. I memorized it by heart, though I am afraid I never made them correctly. Always burn them or not cook them long enough." He admitted sheepishly, holding the bags of Bread and Pastries in his arms. He watched as she carefully helped him place the bag of coins in his pocket, truly appreciating her help, he gave a small nod, watching as she held the door open for him. "Thank ye. I shall return in the morning with thee recipes as well as extra payment, I don't care if ye said they are in thee house, I would like to pay ye for yer service and kindness." He carefully nodded his head walking out the door, frowning when he heard two familiar voices beside him. Turning his head, his eyes widened as he saw Einar and Eero, his heart suddenly fell into his stomach, wondering I'd they had come to retrieve him back to the homestead. Looking at the sky he realized he stayed in town a bit longer than he should have back in his village. They had to stay on time, a moment wasted meant something could and could have happened, did he worry them to the point they had to come search for him? Before he could ask Tahlia had beat him to speak first. So he stood by waiting for her to finish speaking. But it had seemed she had asked his most important question already, what brought them to town. Trandil slowly looked up at the two. "I apologize if I have caused any worry. I was about to return back to the Homestead with thee pastries and bread." He told the two men, his ears lowered as if preparing to be scowled, which is what would've happened back at his village, he needed to remember and learn not everyone was like those from his village. But kinder and more understanding. He tried to carefully shift the bags so he could give them the coin bag. "Please use whatever is left in the bag. I do no

Eero Hiltunen BOT 23-Jan-23 03:53 AM
Eero almost missed seeing Einar kneel to help himself to the loaves of bread on the platter. Shaking his head and chuckling softly as he turned to watch his friend rip off a piece of the lavender honey loaf, he crossed his arms over his chest and leaned slightly against the side of the building. Glancing up from where Einar was with the bread, Eero looked first to his shop across the town center and then to the edge of the palisade walls that led to the docks. Breathing in deeply as he smelled a mixture of the bakery’s treats and the saltwater from the port, Eero smirked and reached out to take the loaf that was offered to him. Ripping off a pinch, he held it in front of his lips and spoke quickly before slipping the morsel of bread into his mouth, “A wagon would be helpful, but mind yourself that you don’t empty your coffers on things you don’t necessarily need. Let’s see what the town has to offer before we make this a one-sided arrangement. They have to benefit from us and what we have to offer, or we’ll quickly fall out of relevance.” Chewing the piece of bread slowly as he shrugged his shoulders about the comment of meeting the baker yet, Eero glanced towards the building before replying, “Not yet, but if they make bread like this frequently, I think I will be becoming a regular customer. This is very good, and I can definitely see it on our feast tables for the next time we host one. Though, I think we might need to buy what they have now so that I can have a good lunch at the forge.” As if on cue for the mentioning of them purchasing the bread, either for a future meal or the one they were currently enjoying, the door to the bakery opened as a blonde woman stepped forward to occupy the doorway for a moment. Putting another piece of the bread in his mouth as she spoke, Eero nodded slowly with a smirk as he recognized the good-natured tone of voice the woman had. He could only assume she was the baker, so he raised the loaf with a grin. .

“You make a fine loaf of bread, Miss... Tahlia.” Eero held out on the final half of the syllable until she introduced herself, at which point a true smile spread across his lips. It was good to have a face to the name, and as he took another bite of the loaf, he handed it back over to Einar before speaking with a grin, “We thought we’d help ourselves to a sample of your goods. You see, putting them out like this is the perfect way to get attention. Someone goes for a bite and then they are obliged to pay for at least the one loaf they ate from.” Shifting his hands to hold them on his hips lightly, Eero glanced over the woman quickly to gauge her threat likelihood. It was something he had done for nearly his entire life: every new person he interacted with was looked over for an obvious weapon or any kind of ill-intent. He had full faith in his capabilities to react and defend himself, but he had no reason to lessen his reaction time by being lazy. Seeing a woman that seemed happier with a rolling pin in her hand than an axe, Eero nodded slightly before speaking, “Pleasure to meet you Tahlia. My name is Eero, but I’ll let my comrade introduce himself.” Watching her step clear of the doorway to leave it open and enticing for further business, he glanced over her shoulder and saw the new but familiar frame of Trandil standing in the shop. Offering the young man a nod of recognition, he looked back to Tahlia as he answered, “Well, you see, I am a black smith and I have been spending the last month or so getting my shop ready to open for business. We were hoping to see the town coming to life before I went and lit the forges.” Shifting his gaze to Trandil as he approached them, Eero nodded slowly at his nervous speech before shaking his head with a small smirk. .

Reaching up and patting him on the shoulder, Eero held his hand on Trandil’s shoulder and squeezed it after a moment before speaking, “No need to apologize, friend. You’re a free man; if you need to or want to take a little longer getting back, that’s fine by me. You’re not being held to some timer or expectation here Trandil.” Shaking his head at the offer of using his coin purse, Eero dropped his hand and formed it into a fist before bumping the heel of his hand gently against Trandil’s coin purse in his pocket. “Keep your coins to yourself. I’ll take you up on that offer of bread, but I can buy my own before I get back to the homestead.” @ᛊᚲÁᛚᛞ @💜𝓕𝓲𝓸𝓻𝔂💜 @Kendeline Flower
