Maybe we'll find the one today that was almost always one of the first thoughts to flicker through Ellie's head when she woke up in the morning. Ever since she can remember there were fairy tales about finding your soulmate. Even the most mundane task suddenly made extraordinary when your world changed from black and white to a burst of colors. She longed for it more than anything else. A couple of her college friends had bumped into there's already and the way they described it.. well it was almost even better than the fairy tales made it sound.
It was a Saturday, finally a day off from both classwork and cafe work. She rolled out of bed and padded her way into the bathroom to freshen up and get herself ready for the day. She enjoyed these days the most, the ones where she didn't need to rush to do anything and could just enjoy the minutes as they ticked by. She settled on a light breakfast knowing that her and Hayden had plans later on to order some greasy takeout and more than likely end up cuddled on the couch during whatever movie they chose.
Sometimes she entertained the idea of Hayden ending up being the one for her, what it would've been like if all those years ago her world would have shifted when they met. She sighed pulling herself from the daydream. As nice as things were between Hayden and Ellie she knew that he wasn't the one for her but that's okay, I know he cares for me anyway she thought as she rinsed off her dishes and poured her second cup of coffee. I'll find him someday
