ROLEPLAY HQ - tn-rp-the-forest

stumbles across the oak-brown forest which seemed like a woody heaven, The ancient trees stretched away from the crinkly floor. Trees become the castles of the forest, filled with an abundance of life. Scurrying squirrels searched for food under bristles of wispy mos, mushrooms grew under the shady roof of the forest. The smell of the moist rich earth almost intoxicating he sits at a campsite and lights a fire

A white fox with purple tipped tails would wander onto the site, sniffing the ground and eyeing their surroundings. Assuming they were alone for the time being, she would shift into her humanoid form, revealing her long white hair matching her fur from before. With the same tips, along with her tails. Miki would hum in thought and spot someone sitting at the campsite, eyeing them over.

spots her and calls out "what are you doing out here in the middle of the night? And alone? This can be a dangerous place" he says patting on the log next to him "come on join me by the fire" he smiles warmly

Summer looked at her map and compass for the third time today. "I'm lost, I have to admit it. Hello Summer, let's go on a hiking adventure all on your lonesome. It's a fantastic idea, all you need is a map, a compass and a can do attitude and you'll be swell!" The woman's voice would echo into the darkness to no one in particular. She spotted a rabbit hopping along the untamed foliage and she eyed it. "What...can't a woman talk to herself?" She shook her long auburn curls and leaned against the tree. The rabbit ignored her and nibbled on a leaf it must have found delectable. "You wouldn't happen to know the way to the campsite Mr. Bunny, would you?" she sighed as it scampered off under the brush. Summer banged her head against the tree trunk and groaned loudly. Was she doomed to be lost forever? While she was internally berating herself she just so happened to miss the whiff of smoke coming from the north. It would be another few minutes before it would register in her dense skull that someone had made a campfire. Relieved she would make her way in that direction.

Miki nodded hesitantly and would walk over, holding her tails as she sat down. "Ah...thanks. I'm...Miki."

smiles "the names Armetheus, pleased to meet you" he stops for a moment and looks towards the noice coming from the bush around them

Summer stumbled over a rock and fell through a bush, promptly falling on her face with a loud oomph. The light from the fire casting a warm glow on the redhead and her oversized backpack. She lifted herself up, her hair while and covering most of her face. "H-hello sorry to intrude... Do you happen to know if the campsites are around here?"

Miki rose an eyebrow and looked over, siting more upright as she heard the fall. "Are you okay?.."

looking confused "this is the Campsite" he points at an open spot "care to join us?"

Bob walked into the forest and looked around. With a groan he looked down at the clipboard in his hands and the form titled "Building Inspection Form" and drew a large red X over it. "This one isn't a building!" He yelled out in anguish before turning around and leaving the way he came.

Summer groaned as she tried to balance herself as she got on her hands and knees. She probably brought too many things that the sales clerk at Dick's sporting goods recommended. She huffed when she was finally up on her hands and knees. She crawled to one of the logs and slid put of the arms of her backpack. She huffed as she plopped herself down and pushed her hair out of her face. "HI, and thanks. Names Summer...you guys are?"

The kitsune smiled, waving to her lightly. "I'm Miki!"

"the names Armetheus" he smiles

"Nice to meet you. I've been lost in the woods all day. But thanks to your campfire I am now unlost. Much appreciated." She offered a friendly smile as she began to dig around in her giant bag. She pulled out a metal container and took a long drink of water. "Want any?" She offered the forty ounce bottle to the unique people across the fire.

"don't mind if i do". he eagerly drinks "so what brings you here with your..." looks at her bag "big bag of tools?" looks confused

Asio had been watching everyone from a tree, listening to them as they talk. She wasn't too far above them, and in fact she had been sitting there for a while. She finally decided to make herself known, breaking a twig from the tree letting it drop down to the ground beneath her.

Miki fell quiet and hugged her knees to her chest, glancing to the direction that a twig fell from.

looks around to see what caused it but only finds the twig "looks like it was broken clean off" scratches his head

Asio smirks down at them, seeing them confused brought amusement upon her. "You really can't see me, can you?" A voice from above the people would say. "Look a little harder." Asio had a plan in mind, to scare the living hell out of them.

Miki squinted and scanned the trees for this individual, trying to find a sign of anything.

"see anything" he asks as he watches

There would suddenly be a loud "whoosh" from above and suddenly from the trees a lady fell, he wings spread out at about 8 feet in total. She flapped them one good time to soften her landing. Dust and leaves flying all over the place from the brace. "The name is Asio, Asio Nyctea." The woman would say. Her wings attached to her shoulder blades, but covered her arms and sides.

Miki's ears perked up in interest, and she gave a sheepish wave to the girl. It was interesting, she seemed neat. "Miki.."

"Holy jellybeans on a crepe!" Summer exclaimed at the unfolding events. Never in her life had she seen such a thing. Her eyes were wide in astonishment as the girl named Asio introduced herself. "Ah- I-It's Summer. Ah..I mean, name is. Not the season." She nervously chuckled.

"wow" he says in a shock "where'd you come from? The names Armetheus"

Asio wore a hooded cloak, but also had dark clothing on to keep from being seen in the night. She kept the hood over her head, so that her face was half-assed concealed. "Miki, Summer, Armetheus, it is.. a pleasure to meet all of you." Asio turned to the fire, the light shining on her face. The very tip of her nose, legs, and wings were the only features that could be seen from the fire light. "No need to be nervous. I'm just another being like the rest of you. I'm not dangerous, don't mean no harm. Even though you are in my home, you should be worried about the other creatures that lurk around The Forest."

Miki nodded and hugged a tail to her chest. "Like...who?"

Summer's mouth practically fell to the floor at the girls warning. "Yeah, w-what she said. Like who...or more like what?" She gulped and clung to her waterbottle.

She continued to stand in front of the fire, taking in the warmth that radiated from the burning wood. "Well.." Asio turned to look at the small group. There was a smile on her face, though it was barely visible. "..you'll know what, or who when you see them, but the thing is.. you won't know when." She laughs, her wings slowly opening up before they fling down, lifting her off the ground, disappearing into the night sky. Just like that Asio was gone, only to be seen whenever she feels like being seen.

Miki pouted and whimpered, almost like an actual fox as the owl girl took off. She looked to Summer worriedly. "Are we in danger?.."

Summer looked at Miki and shrugged. "I-" She looked back at where the owl girl had disappeared. "No? Maybe? I hope not."

a quiet rustle in the nearby bushes, followed by a branch breaking, then a startled shout proceeds me falling on my face into the firelight. Laughing, I pick myself up and look around. "HI! I'm Kola!" I say, "what are you all doing here? Is it a party?" I ask hopefully.

"hello I'm Armetheus, we're just hanging out by the fire. Would you like to join us?" he smiles

"sure! I don't run into too many people out here, thank you!" I come over to the fire and squat comfortably. "So how is your evening going?"

laughs "kinda strange but interesting"

"strange? What happened?" I ask, finding a stick to poke at the fire with. I stir up a cinder that lands on my furred leg and drop the stick to swat it off of me before it singes more fur, jumping to my feet and backing away from the fire a few steps. I laugh and walk over near you, still rubbing the singed spot and smelling faintly of burned hair.

smiles "You're quite the clumsy one aren't you" he looks at her leg forgetting what he was about to say, the cold air sends a sudden shiver up his spine

"well, sometimes." I blush, "there's usually no one around to notice." I reach up and scratch my head, right at the base of one of the large, curled horns.

Hesitates "what are you if i may ask?" he smiles warmly as the fire crackles

"me? Oh! I'm a faun!" I giggle, "what are you?"

confused "never heard of your kind before" he says confused "I'm a kitsune" he says as his eyes glow and his ears fade away as two fox ears emerge from his head and his tail comes out

I tilt my head to the side, frowning. "Never heard of a ... have you heard of a satyr?" I ask, surprised you've never heard of a faun.

"Ive heard of them never saw one thought" he says looking curious

I stand up and turn a circle, then bow. "Wow, I didn't trip!" I say, sounding surprised

laughs "You're really cute like a little puppy, well you're not but you get what i mean right?"

I smile and blush. "Aw, thanks! You're cute too!"

takes sweets out of bag * "want some?" *he offers with a smile

I look at the offering and shake my head, still smiling. "No, thank you. I'm vegan."

smiles "You're an oddball i like that"

I give you a slightly confused smile, then shake it off and bring a panpipes out of the bag at my hip. "Mind if I play?" I ask

"go ahead" smiles thinking about how she reminds him of Kit when he was little

I play my own song, made up as I go, full of highs and lows. If you pay close attention you can almost tell what story I'm playing.

curious "where'd you learn to play?"

"uh...well, it's just...kind of a faun thing to do. We all play panpipes, for the most part." I chuckle and play a few more notes before I tuck them away again. "So this is what's going on? Just hanging out around here, enjoying the woods?" I lay back on the grass, staring at the starry sky with a hint of a smile on my face. "This is good. I like this plan."

joins her looking up listening to the nature around them

"you like nature? Oh! I never got your name!" I look over at you, "I'm sorry, that's rude!"

I look over, wondering if you fell asleep.

passes out shortly

after a bit I pull out my panpipes again and play a much more sedate song, a sleep song.

Having heard form a couple trees and birds that a group have people have seemed to moved into the woods, I had felt my curiosity grow. I wasn't sure why they had moved into my home but I was hopeful that they had good intentions at least. My hearing lead to me finding a sleeping man and a fawn playing music. "So what brought you to the forest?" I asked bluntly not really used to dealing with people.

I stop playing to look up at the large creature that approaches, smiling when he ask his question. "I think I was born here, but I may have been born somewhere else. I can't remember that long ago!" I roll onto my stomach to look at him better. "Who, and what, are you?"

When I heard her question I slowly moved down sitting on the grass next to her, my long legs crossing as I watched her rolling onto her stomach. "My name is Kaeric." I told her leaning forward to pick up a hurt butterfly to heal it's wing and let it go again. "I'm a Firebolg, half giants that live among nature."

I watch the butterfly flutter away with a smile. "Your are a friend. " I say decisively. "You are a large and strange friend, but a friend nonetheless."

I couldn't help but smile when you called me a friend, glad that you seemed to like nature as well. Which did make sense considering you were a fawn. "Thank you, then you are a friend as well." I replied to her before my eyes twinkled "a small friend but still a friend."

"would you like a song, friend?" I ask, pulling out my pipes again. "I won't wake anyone, I can sit nice and close and I won't have to play very loud."

slowly starts waking

Hearing her offer for a song I smiled at her and quickly nodded, lifting myself up to sit closer to her "I would love a song, haven't got to listen to music in a very long time." He told her not noticing that the man was starting to wake up.

Slowly opens his eyes to see Kaeric and starts getting defensive out of fear "what are you"

I start to play a soothing tune, one I thought up while watching a creek just the other day. I play quietly, so it's easy to converse over the sound.

Hearing the music playing I smiled feeling more relaxed as I got to listen to the music she played before I tensed noticing the mans reaction to me. "I'm Kaeric a nature half giant." He told the man before pausing. "This place is my home."

notices him getting tensed up but stares him down not breaking eye contact "You're not gomma eat us?"

Hearing the mans question I paused slightly having expected to be asked something like that. "Just got to season you with a little salt." I said dryly before I shook my head. "I'm a vegetarian." I say instead.

"oh, wonderful! So am i!" I say, lowering the pipes after the last note.

bursts out laughing "i dont go down easily" he laughs still laying on his back

Kaeric smiled as he let himself relax, arm lightly brushing against Kola's as he leaned backwards lying down on the grass. "It's hard to eat animals when your able to speak to them." he told the two of them.

"I'm part goat, not much for eating animals myself." I lift one cloven hoof and wriggle my two toes to illustrate. "But I would think being able to talk to them would make them much easier to catch."

He nodded at her when he listened to what she eyes going to her hoof before he looked back at her face. "Well yeah it does make them easier to catch, it just makes it harder to kill them." He informed her absentmindedly feeling a bird fly onto his chest.

"I couldn't kill anything. Not on purpose. Well, maybe. If it was trying to kill me." I speculate. I shift around a bit and lay against Kaeric's arm, using it like a cushion.

"ok you two love birds..." he teases "I'm heading home before the grass swallows me whole" he laughs

i moved my arm when Kola lied on it, opening it up to help her get more comfortable as she used my arm as a pillow. "Sadly death is a part of nature." He said pointedly choosing to ignore Ametheus's teasing. "Watch your step, there's a new bunny den that has gotten pretty large." He warned the man.

"bye! Nice meeting you!" I call out, settling comfortably on Kaeric's arm and printing my pipes back out to play a quiet song

I leaned forward as I heard Kola play another song, my free hand absentmindedly going to her head as my large fingers ran through her hair gently. "So do all Fawn's learn to play the pipes?"

"pretty much. It's a culture thing. Expression through music. After all, the pipes are played the same way a voice is played. With our breath." I tip my head and enjoy your fingers in my hair. "You are a good friend!" I almost purr, "don't catch yourself on my horns. The tips can be sharp."

I smile at you when you told me that I was a good friend, my fingers rubbing your horns slightly before I went back to stroking your hair. "Thank you, your a good friend as well Kola, your pretty great at playing the pipes as well." He told her lifting her up off of his arm to let her lie on his chest instead.

Miki would have wandered off as Armetheus did, attempting to locate a cabin. (edited)

"hmm!" I smile and lay out on your chest, enjoying the attention to my horns, I lay on my stomach, relaxing with a happy smile. "Thank you!"

Quickly noticing that you liked have your horns played with I quickly smiled at you, fingers gently beginning to rub your horns as I let my other hand rub circles into your back. "It's nice speaking to someone that isn't well an animal for a change." I tell you with a smile.

"um, well, I'm only half animal!" I laugh, "does that still count?"

I smiled at you and nodded absentmindedly letting my head rest against yours, careful to not disturb your horns. "I think you still count." I told you happily.

"I can, actually, counting is easy! It's the rest of math I get hung up on!" I say absently, sprawling out to wrap my arms as far around you as I can.

I smile as I heard your reply, "math is just a waste of time." I joke my fingers continuing to gently massage your horns as I enjoyed our closeness.

my leg twitches gently as you rub my horns, I get a silly, distant smile. "That feels nice!"

Noticing how your leg twitched I hummed and continued to rub your horns with a tilted head, "do you think if I rub your horns fast enough I can make your legs kick?"

I blush and giggle "yes!" I say, "I know you can!" I burst into more giggles (edited)

I smiled at you when I heard you giggle, before I quickly started to rub your horns faster, my large fingers being careful to not actually hurt you as I tried to make them kick. "cute, I kind of want to see that for myself." I say with a smile enjoying the sight of your blushing face.

"oh!" I stretch out, my left leg lazily kicking the air as I giggle uncontrollably. I shake my head gently and sit up, looking down at you. "That's no fair!" I protest, "you don't have horns!" I still smile, despite trying to sound stern.

I laughed softly as I heard your half hearted protest, wrapping my arms around your waist to pull you into a half hug. "Sorry couldn't help myself, just thought your horns were too cute not to rub." He told her with a tone that made clear that he wasn't actually all that sorry.

I giggle again, hugging you with both arms, smiling. "Awe, I think they are my best feature!" I say happily.

I smiled back at you and wrapped my arms around your hips hugging you tightly. "I think the rest of you is also pretty great." I told you absentmindedly pulling you onto my lap.

I blush again and giggle, looking up at you curiously. "Wow, you are definitely my biggest friend!" I say, "how big are you?"

I smiled at you fighting the urge to let my brain go to a well less pure place. "I'm around 8ft half giants tend to be on the larger size." I tell you with a smile fingers rubbing into your stomach.

I nod and smile up at you. "Definitely my biggest friend." I say, enjoying all the touching quite a lot

I nodded at you and let my face resting against your cheek leaning down on the grass as I got comfy. "And your probably my smallest friend how tall are you?" I asked you with a smile arms hooking around your waist.

"fauns are usually a bit under 5 feet" I confess. "And I'm not a particularly tall faun"

I smile at you and nodded "I'm tall your short sounds like we're a perfect pair." I joke to you.

"well, were both vegetarian, too" I add, "and we both live in the woods." I start counting things off on my fingers

I smiled at you and nodded before I noticed that the sun was starting to go down. "Maybe we should find you somewhere warm to sleep." I suggested picking you up in my arms.

"oh! Ok!" I lean over to watch the ground pass underneath me. Then sit up an look at you. "Oo-oh!" I say slowly, comprehension dawning on my face. "You mean...!"

Asio watched from a distance as everything happened throughout the hours that had passed. Soon she would decide to get a bit closer, flying over to the same tree that she had been in when she made herself known. She sat and waited, waited for someone to show back up so she could give them a little scare. Specifically Miki. Poor girl looked like she gets scared at the smallest of things. The perfect victim for Asio to tease.

Miki eventually had wandered out back to the campsite after retreating to a cabin for the night. Her tails faintly waved behind herself, and her ears pivoted around in an attempt to listen for anything. Her eyes were curious, but she was cautious. Where was everyone?

It wasn't long before Asio heard leaves and twigs crunching in the distance. There she was, little Miki. Just who Asio wanted to see. She waited for Miki to wonder closer to the campsite, watching her ears twitch and move. Asio knew she was listening, not for anything specific, just in general. She really is a nervous little thing isn't she? Finally Asio dropped from the tree silently. She let her wings unfold, acting as a parachute until she dropped directly in front of Miki. Asio stopped the girl in her tracks, landing on the ground a foot in front of her. "Looking for something Miki?" Asio raised an eyebrow. "I assure you there is nothing to find. You know.. I wouldn't be surprised if something was trying to find someone like you though. Little Kitsune wondering through the woods all alone.. a perfect target to pounce on.. maul.. and finally.. eat." Asio laughs a bit. (edited)

Miki jumped and looked to Asio, her ears folding back as she stepped back from her. "H-hey! I'm not an easy target! I'm just cautious, this area is completely new to me." She folded her arms, growling under her breath.

"Exactly.. new to the area. You don't know how the creatures hunt around here, nor do you know where to go if you're being chased." Asio took a step closer, giggling a bit. "No need to growl darling. Besides, who said I wouldn't help if any of you got in trouble? I'm around.. a lot more than you think Miki. I listen.. watch.. examine everything that I hear, see and find in this forest." Asio gains a couple steps closer to her, now just inches away from her. Her emerald green eyes staring directly into Miki's, a couple strands in dark brown hair could he seen aswell. "It's okay to be cautious, and worry. Just like you, I don't want to get hurt, and it's okay to think like that."

Miki seemed cautious as Asia got closer. Her ears stayed flat, her curious gaze flickered in fear. She felt like maybe Asio was messing with her, but she wasn't sure. Her arms loosened though, to hug her tail instead. "I just don't wanna get caught out, you know? I don't know anyone here, or how they are."

Asio nods. "See.. that's understandable. There is no need to worry though. I've been listening, everyone seems genuine. You'll be okay. Just know I'm just trying to give you a little scare, but I'm not joking about the creatures that lurk, why do you think I live in the trees? Yes I'm an Owl.. but I don't just have a nest, I have a small house in the trees. One would say a tree house, which is exactly what it is. Can you climb?" Asio motions to the trees. "Your best bet when being hunted is to climb as high as you can into the trees."

Miki nodded quietly and listened to the woman. She smiled faintly, seemingly relaxing. "Okay. Thank you, ah...what was your name again? I'm sorry."

"unless it's a black bear coming after you, then you want to not get treed. They'll come right up after you, and they climb fast!" I stumble out of a bush, pausing to kick away some vines that wrapped around my hoof. I smile at the creatures I've stumbled -literally! - upon and introduce myself. "Hello! I'm Kola! Hope you're doing alright." I incline my head, putting my large, curled horns on display for a moment. My expression stays open and friendly, completely non threatening, and I keep a decent distance from the strangers.

"Asio Nyctea. Yes, my name is uncommon, which is why it's easy to forget. There is no need to be sorry though." Asio turns to look at the girl, tilting her head. She listened to her talk. "Ah yes, black bears, they can climb trees. I've never had any problems with them myself. Asio Nyctea, it is nice to meet you Kola."

Miki squealed and jumped as the person stumbled out of the bush. She immediately ran to a tree to hug, only to realize it was the faun from before. "O-oh! Ah...hi." She cleared her throat, releasing the tree.

Asio turns to Miki and chuckles. "I was just about to ask if you'd like to come with me to some of my favorite spots, but it seems we have company." Asio turns back to the being. "I saw you and some other venture to the cabins last night. Have a little fun last night?" Asio teases.

Miki got away from the tree and resumed hugging her tail, joining the two quietly. She would idly pet her tail, her ears still cautiously laid back.

"oh, I always have fun, what's the point of living if you aren't enjoying it!" I quip. I lookbat the owl person, then kitsune, and scratch my head. "Don't owls eat small mammals?" I ask, appearantly confused.

Asio laughs. "Yes, but I'm not a cannibal. I may be an Owl, but I still have human in me, look." She points down to her toes and wiggles them. When Miki stepped closer to them Asio would turn and grab the girl in her arms picking her up. "I'm gonna eat you! Haha!" Asio would say, laughing hysterically.

Miki squealed again and hid her face with her tails, that seemed to flourish out upon being picked up. Her hands covered her face but her tails just added some extra coverage. "Nooo! I'm nice I swear!"

Asio continues to laugh soon putting the girl down. Asio ruffles her hair, the laugh turning into chuckles. "Miki you're so adorable. I really could just eat you up!" Asio seemed to be in a better mood now. Opening up a bit.

Miki blushed and relaxed once set down. The ruffles made her perk up, her tails wagging at different tempos. "Awh, well thank you!" She smiled, her ears standing upright now.

I watch I'm shock. I was certain I was coming to have to try and save Miki. "It's not very nice to scare people, you know." I say, shaken by the scare.

Asio turns to look at Kola. "Well.. I.." Asio sighs, turning to look at Miki. "Alright alright. I'm sorry for messing around Miki." She turns back to look at Kola. "Better?" She smiles.

Miki smiled faintly and nodded. "It's okay, I know you were joking."

Asio reaches out and places a hand on Miki's shoulder. "I meant to ask earlier, but I was wondering if maybe you would like to go down the ways a bit. There is a lake, it's pretty beautiful."

Miki smiled to Asio, her tail wagging once more. It sounded fun, and she nodded very excitedly. "Yes! I'd love to see!"

Asio reaches out and grabs the kitsunes hand gently, pulling her along as she walked away from the campsite. "Take it easy Kola." Asio would say. "You ever soared through the sky before Miki?"

Miki would nervously look at their hands as she was guided away. She gulped while Asio asked a question, something she had never done before in her life. "N..no.."

Asio chuckles. "Would you like to? It will be a lot faster than walking. That's.. if you trust me enough, if you don't I understand. I have scared you many times today."

Miki looked over Asio hesitantly, her ears folding back a second. She pouted and reached over with her open hand, a closed fist minus a pinky standing upright. "Promise you will be nice." She narrowed her gaze to them as she waited.

Asio stops the two, looking curiously at the pinky that was suddenly raises up to her. Asio looks from the pinky to Miki's eyes. "I.." Asio slowly lifts her other hand and hooks her pinky with Miki's pinky. "I promise I will be nice to you. So.. what do you say?"

Miki nodded in a confirming matter, smiling widely. She seemed pretty happy with that, her tail wagging and her ears perky. "Yes! I am excited more now!"

Asio turns to face Miki, her wings slowly opening up. She flaps the slowly, warming them up. "How around you like to do this? The only thing I can think of is to hold you, but if you have another idea I'm open to hearing them."

Miki shrugged faintly and opened her arms. "I think holding me might be the best option. Oh wait! Idea!" She retracted her arms and stretched for a moment. Then before her friends' eyes, she shifted down into her fox form.

Asio watches curiously as the kitsune suddenly turned into a little fox. "I.." She tilts her head and kneels down holding her arms out to the fox. "Can you.. talk?" This was.. unbelievable. Asio had never seen anything like it.

Miki seemed to chitter and jump into Asio's arms, curling up once comfortable. I can't speak but, I have this neat thing where I can talk in your head!!

Asio hold the soft little baby in her arms. "You just got 10x more adorable." She would say, suddenly hearing the voice in her head. She quickly turns around using her left wing to cover the fox in case they were in danger. "What?!" She looks around clueless at what the voice was. It took her a while but she would soon open her wing to look down at Miki. "Um.. was that.. was that you?"

Miki would look up at Asio, the fox laughing and seeming very happy. The tail flicking and flopping around. It was me! I tend to be a bit more outgoing and more playful too like this! It feels natural.

"Oh! You scared me." She laughs. "Thought I was gonna have to hurt something. I must say.." Asio gently pets the fox, running her fingers through the fur. "You're very, very soft."

Miki's little fox form chittered happily again, rolling onto her back in Asio's arms. Awh, thank you! I take care of my hair and fur a bunch!

Asio lifts her hand to let the fox roll on it's back. She reaches back down and scratches the fox's stomach a bit. "I can see that, anyways, are you ready to fly for the first time?"

Miki's voice giggled in Asio's consciousness as her belly was scratched. The fox itself laughed and playfully moved her paws around, enjoying the pets. Yes please!

Asio continued to pet the fox, keeping her mind off the take off, which was normally the scariest part. There was a sudden jerk as Asio's wings flung down and the two took flight high into the air. It was beautiful, you could see everything, the trees, cabins, and specifically a little opening in the trees where the lake was. Asio glided along the sky, the wing blowing her hood off her head, revealing her face to the fox. The Owl was too busy gliding through the air to worry about it, her hands holding the fox close to her chest. They would soon make it over the lake. "Look down!" She would yell. Soon circling above the lake a bit as they lowered in altitude. It wouldn't be long before the two finally made it to the ground. Asio's wings worked as a parachute to help land. They would have landed right beside the lake, a few feet from the shallows. She didn't put the fox down, and in fact held her in her arms longer. Her hand gently petting along her nose and between her ears. "It's beautiful.. isn't it?"

Miki squealed in her fox form as they took off, her head burying into Asio. She didn't want to look until she was instructed to, which...it looked beautiful. Her tail wagged happily, the fox seemingly smiling and laughing. Once they landed, Miki blinked once as she was pet along her nose and between her ears. It felt super nice and comforting, and her gaze scanned the area while her tail went wild. It was so exciting, and breathtaking to witness. She started to squirm, eager to get down and explore!

Enters the forest exploring the darkest sides of the forest looking for trouble his mind a mess and the salty remains of the tears still on his face, aggressively he explores deeper and deeper getting lost into the now thickening darkness

Summer was currently lost, yet again. Her eyes slightly filled with tears of irritation as she looked at the map and spun in a circle. She had decided to try and find the lake for a morning swim, only to get lost. "Good going summer, here you are alone in the middle of the woods..." She kicked at a stone near her shoes, her bright red converse shoe making contact and causing the stone to fly and ricochet off a tree and off into a bush. She loudly groaned and hit her forehead on a tree. "I'll die out here, yep. I'll die and the forest ranger will find my body being eaten by wild animals..."

Vasilisa had been traveling for some time now, weeks, if she'd had to guess. She had come across many creatures, and made meals out of them easily. She trekked now with several pelts attached to her belt. They would be perfect for blankets and clothing. Gifts for the weary. She came upon the edge of a thick forest, and she could sense the energy that was rolling from within. It seemed safe enough, though was anywhere truly safe enough? She took a few weary steps past the initial tree line and drew her bow from around her torso, an arrow nettled in the string should she come across a situation that needed her quick thinking and reaction. It felt almost like its own world apart from the world. Dense and relatively quiet. She could settle here, find her own space and likely not be bothered. Nor bother anyone else.

Summer decided now was a good time to peek down at the ground, only to realize that was a terrible, terrible mistake. "Hell! I'm gonna die, and my mama doesn't even know I stole her wallet when I was twelve!" She clung to the tree even more so when she heard a bush rustle. "Ahhh!"

As Asio ran her wings would open and begin to flap until the wind caught them and they took flight. "My legs are so tired, I'm sorry!" They flew above what looked like Summer stuck in a tree, the next thing they see is.. well Asio didn't know. Asio suddenly dive bombed to the ground, tucking her wings back so that they soared quickly down to the ground. She opens her wings up, her wings once again catching air. With a jerk the two slowed on a dime and to the ground. "Leave her alo-..." Asio tilted her head. "It looked like.. Armetheus. Asio wasn't sure so she put Miki on the ground and pushed her behind Asio. "S- stay back, get out of here!"

Summer blinked hearing actual words and not wild animals roaring. She felt very silly now, stuck in the tree. She cleared her throat and tried to sound calm. "A-Ah s-sorry for disturbing everyone's l-lovely day." One of her hands slipped and she yelped as she began to fall from the tree. Summer could swear she saw her life flash before her eyes. The truth was she was being very dramatic. She was only a few feet above the ground and would possibly only break an arm at most, but she certainly wouldn't die.

Summer grunted acknowledgment as they spoke to her. "I-" She coughed and sat up, her but was slightly sore but otherwise she was unharmed. "I am so sorry. I heard a wild animal I think and I freaked and I swear it was a bear and oh my gosh." The girl was a ball of nerves as she rambled on, she looked towards Miki and Asio. "I know I'm not the lightest, mama always told me to stay away from potatoes but I can't." She cleared her throat.

Asio shook he head and pointed at Armetheus. "It was him.. I think.. well I'm not sure." Asio begins to stroke Miki's body gently, lifting the fox to plant a soft kiss between the ears of the fox. "It'll be okay Miki. Anyways, I don't know what's going on with Armetheus.. he.. is changing.."

Miki closed her eyes as she was held, not saying much else. Her fox tendencies mainly kicked in, licking her paw. A small red spot was seen on it, but she didn't seem panicked, so she will be fine.

Asio looks down to see the little red spot and sighs. "Well.. I guess y'all take it easy. There is a lake not too far east of here. It's where me and Miki were. We will meet y'all there in a bit. I have to tend to Miki's paw." Asio spread her wings and held the fox close to her, suddenly taking flight.

I wander along beside a river, stopping occasionally to throw a rock in the water. My pipes are in my hand, but I don't seem inclined to play them.

I pause, looking around, then hop up on a large rock nimbly, make myself comfortable, and play a few notes. A song still doesn't come to me, so I give up quickly and just watch the river quietly.

I sigh and lay back on the rock, grimacing when my horn knocks on the uneven surface unexpectedly. I reach up, feeling for a chip in my horn. Satisfied there is no noticeable damage, I close my eyes and drift halfway to sleep.

Then I step back and kick off my boots and knuckles, strip my shirt over my head, and unfastened my pants. As I undress, my skin seems to ripple, and fur sprouts from it all over my body. By the time my pants are off I've shifted into an identical kitsune as yourself, just with emerald green eyes.

I see you lagging and slow up, letting you catch up. I come to a meadow with soft grass and a brook on one end, with pink and white and yellow flowers everywhere. I jump and roll into a clump of grass, shifting back to my human form as I dissappear in the tall green grass. I land flat on my back and lay there, catching my breath.

"See! Doesn't it just feel good!" Asio chuckles, her wings flapping a bit in order to gain a bit more altitude. "Alright alright. That's enough of that. We are close to the lake." She brings the girl back to her chest and begins to descend. Slightly tucking her wings in order to do so. It wouldn't be long before they were in the exact same spot they were the other day. "Here we are." Asio bends down and sets Miki on her feet. "Beautiful, isn't it?"

walks through the forest hunting whatever he can find he then starts cutting down trees to build a hut for himself, the rapid thudding of the axe against the wood echoes through the forest as the force makes a frew branches snap

Miki curled up into Asio's chest while they flew. Once they had arrived at the lake, Miki happily was put on the ground, running around to see the lake and nearby area. Happy squeaks and chitters came from Miki, her almost jumping around.

"I mean, I don't think I can toss you in the water in your human form, though I might. I figured it would be more fun if you were in your fox form."

And then I can swim back? She asked excitedly, her tail starting to go again. Do it, do it! It sounds fun!

"Yes! Okay okay, here I go." At first Asio sort of bends down and lightly tosses the fox out into the water. Asio wanted to work her way further and higher. "Let's start easy for now. Let me know when things get a little scary, okay?"

Miki flopped into the water and paddled her way back. She rushed up to Asio and nuzzled into her chest. Okay! That was fine!

"I'm sorry to say, you've just barely missed our Christmas Festival and New Year's Block Party this year..." Indigo continued to speak to Gwen, "However, you'll be able to enjoy our upcoming Valentine's Day events, one of which is the famous 'Cupid's Hunt!' It's something of a sporting event; think of it as a MASSIVE game of Hide and Seek, except with foam arrows dipped in paint." He chuckled, "Basically, there are a few teams, each one with a different color soaked into their sponge arrows of paint. The teams all go hunting each other and pelting each other with arrows. The team that gets hit the LEAST with arrows gets a nice little prize and bragging rights, while the team that gets hit the MOST with arrows has to kiss the people on all the other teams! Kisses on the cheek, mind you, nothing too risque...that comes later, in other Valentine's events." He winked playfully. Suddenly, he stopped, looking about. "Ah...Miki's nearby! Let's see how she's feeling today..." He knelt down, motioning for Gwen to do the same. "Don't want to seem too imposing...you'll see why in a moment." He explained. Hello, Miki, It's Mr. Cobalt! Gwen kept walking behind Indigo trying to keep up the pace. Indigo looked quite strong and that clearly helped in this small hike of ours. Gwen was curiosly listening to the unique Valentine's day celebration he was explaining her about. "This really sounds interesting. I'm already looking forward to this event for sure..Bu-t" Indigo interrupted her in between immediately kneeling down and asking her to do the same. Without any questions Gwen did as he instructed and knelt down but was curious about the purpose of it. "What's wrong?" Gwen whispered looking at Indigo.

Miki looked to Mr. Cobalt and chittered again, then sounding like she let out a fox like laugh. She went to his feet and laid down, rolling about. He would then hear a voice in his head, to only be assumed it was her. Hello!! Yes yes I love meeting new people! The lake is also beautiful today! I've been having so much fun!

Indigo grinned. He adored how sunny Miki's personality could be. Yes, it's looking particularly gorgeous! Nice and warm day today too, perfect for swimming! I'm so glad you're having fun, little kit! He reached into his pocket and produced a piece of deer jerky. Are you hungry, little kit? He also spoke out loud, "This is Gwen, my new friend. Gwen, this is Miki."

"Oh Miki. Hey!" She waved at Miki rather reluctant to touch her but she did gather some courage and just patted her gently feeling her smooth and warm fur. "Uhh, I love your fut Miki. You are cute" She smiled as she gets more comfortable with Miki. "Are you two friends?" She looked at Indigo while she gestures Miki to come on up in her lap.

Miki smiled some and ran over to Gwen, climbing up into her lap as she awaited for Indigo's answer. She was slightly damp on her paws but otherwise, Miki was dry!

Indigo nodded. "Indeed we are! I come to visit from time to time, her joy is just so radiant!" He gently scratches Miki behind the ear. I've been showing Gwen the town, as she's just recently come to live here. His mind conveyed to the fox. (edited)

Absolutely! Indigo thought, suddenly suppressing a laugh as his imagination conjured a ridiculous vision of Miki transforming where she sat, giving poor Gwen a heart attack naught but a few days into her residence!

"Well!" Indigo said, standing up and offering his hand to Gwen, "We have much to see still yet, and more people to meet! Shall we move on to Main Street?"

Gwen was shocked looking the little fox she had on her lap turning into a human version of itself and yet looked majestic. "Wh-what just happened?" Gwen muttered in utter shock taking 2 steps back clearly afraid and confused looking at Indigo.

Indigo sighed, "Miki...sweetie..." He turned to Gwen, holding up his hands. "It's alright, just relax, she's just as harmless as before, not to worry, she just looks different at the moment." He moved a bit closer. "As you know, all towns have their...quirks, their identity. Ours is...well, the out-of-the-ordinary, not to put too fine a point on it. I assure you, however, there's nothing to fear from our residents; most of them are just as average as anyone else, and the rest are just individuals looking for a good life, likewise as anyone else." He held out his hand. "Please, let's continue our tour, and I'll tell you more."

Cie Cie leapt through the forest, bouncing from tree to tree as he ran through the forest on that sunny, warm day. He was in a good mood, and his tail swayed back and forth as he paused to figure out what he wanted to explore next. Through some trees, he overheard people talking. Gingerly, Cie Cie parted the leaves so he could get a better view of the three people walking down the path. Cie Cie was very shy, too shy to try and greet these strangers. Too many bad encounters with the humans in town had made Cie wary of them; it was really only Key Key that he trusted, and they had been best friends for as long as he could remember. He continued to watch the group on the path, when suddenly he felt a sharp pain in his stomach. He clutched his side and let out a low mrrow, stifling it once he realized he was making noise. Cie Cie let the leaves close back in front of him, hoping he hadn't been seen - and that Key Key would be able to help him soon.

"Sure! It's just that it might take me sometime to wrap my head around it" Gwen said still in a bit of shock as she extended her hand to hold on yo Indigo's. "So, where to now?" She asks with some concerns but still excited about how things are unfolding around.

Miki's ears flicked and she glanced towards the sound. Surely someone was there, her eyes narrowing as she hadn't seen anyone. Was she imagining things? Perhaps.. She then looked to Gwen and Indigo. "Well it seems you two are busy, so have fun!! I'm sure we'll meet again!" Miki would state, then running off to retreat into her home, shifting down into her fox like form.

Indigo gave her hand a gentle squeeze. "Main Street! I'll show you ALL the best shops in town, mine included, and then...dinner!" (RP in my shop, lol) (edited)

Miki yawned as she sat in a forest made swing, her hands wrapped around the vine ropes as she swung. The view and clearing before her was that of a waterfall that fell into a lake, that emptied into a nearby river. She was calm and relaxed, enjoying the peace.

As dusk fell on the forest, Cie Cie sat at the edge of the treeline, his gaze turned towards the town to the west. The sun was setting and the sky had turned beautiful shades of pink and purple. Cie Cie's stomach growled softly - he hoped Key Key would be around to help him soon.

A late night walk with Barkley had somehow turned into much more then a simple walk. She had not wanted to go home, enjoying the cold evening air to much to turn around. Before she knew it she had wandered and she was now getting close to the edge of the forest. She was lost in thought, looking at the ground before her feet as she recollected everything that had happened that day. At least that was until Barkley suddenly pulled on his leash out of nowhere. “Wow!” She exclaimed as the pull almost made her stumble, the leash getting out of her grip and Barkley running off into the trees. “Barkley!” She shouted after him! “Barkley come here!” She tried again, yet the golden retriever seemed to have found something that was way more interesting then his owner. “The hell Barkley..” she just sighed as she started after him.

Cie Cie was still watching people bustle around the town when he heard a jingling sound, at first far away from him but quickly getting closer. He peered through the thick brush until his eyes set on the source: a large golden retriever had caught his scent and was making a beeline for him. Were it a better time, Cie Cie might have tried to help the dog realize it's new abilities here in the forest, but Cie Cie was not in the mood to play cats and dogs that night. With agility that was certainly more cat-like than human, Cie Cie leapt up into the tree nearest him, coming to rest on the lowest branch. Barkley stood at the bottom of the tree, barking at Cie Cie, his tail wagging. Cie Cie sighed. "Where are you, Key..." he thought to himself. Just then, the ground rumbled. Then again. Barkley stopped barking and began to sniff the air. The rumbling became louder and vibrations stronger. This is not how Cie Cie expected his night to go. "What now..." - and as if to answer his question, a large elephant suddenly appeared from the dense trees. Barkley took one look at the giant beast running towards him and ran in the other direction, letting out little whiny yips as he retreated. "Well, one creature taken care of..." Cie Cie's attention turned to the elephant, who appeared to have spotted his bright pink form in the tree. "...one to go." Sensing the calm of the animal, Cie Cie jumped down and approached slowly. He put a hand on the elephants trunk, stroking its rough grey skin. "There there, it's ok. You're going to be ok."

The elephant made it into the brush and kept running. Even in the thick trees, it was still a giant creature. It was so concerned with escaping its captors, it nearly stomped right on a small dog that was in it's path. The elephant stopped to catch its breath and decide what direction to go next when it spotted something pink in the tree. A...human? The elephant's eyes went wide with fear, but then back to normal. This human...did not seem like the rest. In fact, it didn't even seem completely human. The elephant watched the human jump down from the tree limb and approach slowly. Something told her to trust him. Then, something very odd happened. The human spoke - this part was not strange, plenty of humans had talked to the elephant before. What was strange was that the elephant understood this human. "Wh...how-" The elephant gasped. It could SPEAK? What in the world was happening.

"Yes, that would be quite a surprise if you weren't expecting it, wouldn't it. My name is Cie Cie - I'm a cat! Well, kind of. This forest, it's special. The animals that live here, we can speak to each other, and to the humans in town. We can change into human form, too - well, kind of." Cie Cie's cat ears twitched. "Have you been given a name before? What should I call you?"

The elephant was still taking everything in. "Wow. Th-thats amazing! I can speak! And you can speak!" The elephant's giant ears picked up on the trackers, searching for her through the forest. Her eyes widened with fear again. "Please, help me - they're both looking for me, and neither of them are good. You said - you said I can be human? I need to hide." The elephant's head turned back and forth nervously. "You can call me Ellie."

"Ellie, that's a beautiful name. Cie Cie smiled at her, trying to put her at ease. Ok, becoming human is all about imagination. Close your eyes, it will make this easier the first time." Cie Cie watched Ellie's eyes close, sensing she was still nervous about the people after her. "Ok, now imagine yourself as a human - think of what you look like, your features, but also imagine being a person with legs and arms and a human body." Cie Cie waited a few moments, and his smile turned into a wide grin. "Much better."

Ellie imagined herself as a human as best she could. She had always been in chains, but now she imagined these chains as gold jewelry that decorated her ears and neck. She opened her eyes and - she had turned into her vision! Her hooves and tail and nose and ears were all still there, her skin was still grey, but now she was much smaller and standing upright, just like a human. In addition, her chains and harness had disappeared, replaced by the gold jewelry she'd imagined and a black dress. "Ohhhhhhhh.....how amazing!!!!"

"Yes, and right in time! Quickly, here." Cie Cie led Ellie nearby to a makeshift shelter that was covered with wood and moss. He led her in and they looked out a crack in the branches at the clearing ahead. The trackers were just approaching. "Her prints stop here. I don't understand, they're just gone. There are some smaller tracks here, but theyre not large enough to be an elephant." The men looked around for a bit, and then left to continue their search elsewhere. Cie Cie was breathing heavily - his stomach had begin to hurt him again. In all the excitement, he'd almost forgotten that he was still waiting for Cie Cie. "Let's just rest here a minute, Ellie - and then I need to head to the edge of the trees to meet a friend. Don't worry, he's a good human."

Miki would have been watching from the trees, holding onto a branch as they would speak on finding an animal. She smiled to herself, seeing people like her it seemed. At least she wasn't alone in the area anymore.

Kenji would walk in and spot miki "AY MIKIIIII"
