Abby felt like she may as well have no other choice but to rip the leg off, that was the only thing that came to her mind. But the sound of footsteps fast approaching caught her attention, turning her head to see Ace had come back to her. Why? Didn't he prefer being alone? At least, that was the vibe she got. But this guy, at least was willing to help her, despite being strangers. She watched as he moved towards the trap, and while she was still scared of him, she was more concerned about the trap that was digging away at her leg.
Her eyes fell on the knife that he pulled from his boot. How many different weapons did this guy have hidden? Doesn't matter, help was help and she needed it badly. Her eyes scanned the trap as Ace dug the blade into the jaws and tried to pry it open. It was difficult, that was for sure, and Abby was not strong by any means. Well, she was, but not enough to pull a trap open. Ace certainly was, but not for long.
The male shouted at her, telling her to pull her leg out. Her body was still in shock so she couldn't move her leg on her own. She had to use her hands to pull it out quickly. Just in time too because the trap snapped shut, breaking the knife along the way. Abby fell backwards into the grass, breathing heavily and staring at the tree canopy. She was sweating, but it was also mixed with the tears shedding from her eyes. While the pain of the trap had subsided a little, the damage it did was painful enough. She couldn't move that leg even if she tried. It just laid there in the grass, limp and bleeding.
"Th-Thank.. You.. Ace.." she gasped, breathing heavily. Her chest rising and falling quickly while trying to calm herself. But her mind was racing with so many thoughts, so many worries.
It feels like.. it got pretty deep.. No way I can walk like this.. Fuck.. I bet he'll just leave me here. This is the second time he's saved me. What can I even offer as compensation? She looked at the cans scattered in the grass around the trap.
