rom work, which was minimal with customers and her boss, John. At home? It was with her Ragdoll cat, Felix.
Passing by a QT gas station and convenience store, the shop was well within sight. It was a small building, with gray bricks and large panel windows that showcased recent books that came in on either side of a mahogany door. On the door was a sign that showed whether the store was open or closed, as well as the hours that the store was open.

Currently, the sign was set to Closed but John's mint green Kia Soul was parked out front, which meant he was here early as per usual. Luna grabbed the handle and turned it, finding it unlocked.
Must have just got here then if he hasn't locked it yet.. she thought idly as she stepped inside and shut the door, locking it. Checking the time on the clock above the front register, it only read that it was 8:50am. Which meant that John must have done the inventory check already.
To the left upon entering the shop, there was the register counter, made of the same mahogany wood used for the door. It stretched around in an L shape. There were various books stacked on the counter. Behind the counter was the register, except it wasn't even those newer ones with the screens. It was an older one, antique by the looks of it. John was always a fan of older things, wasn't a fan of new technology. A National Cash Register Model 452 to be exact. Made of bronze. It certainly looked to have been kept in good condition too. That let you know how much care he took for the thing. But, it worked and it did what it was supposed to do so Luna couldn't complain too much.
