"Again..."
Cornelius stood up and looked around to notice that his maid had woken him up. It only meant one thing, he fell asleep. His wife will yell again...
Grunting and feeling quite annoyed, he asked what time is it, before turning his head at the clock. 10:12 PM.
"Twelve minutes past the bedtime. Alright. Thank you Anna for waking me up. You can go now."
Cornelius sat down at the chair and cleaned up his desk. Looking around the table to make sure all places are clean and then stood up, and left to his bedroom.
Once he entered the bedroom, he saw Martha pack her items, saying that tomorrow she will go and see her mother for a month. So he must take the time and rethink his actions. If he wants to have a healthy relationship.
Cornelius was really frustrated, as he felt misunderstood. The only reason he's working so hard is because the telegraph was not easy enough to transfer to save his friends life. But a phone call at such distance surely would have made it in time.
The past pain held him back as he looked at his wife acting as if she doesn't want to understand anything.
She didn't care about his friends death, only because he was a Russian sympathiser. And his cousin was from Russian, meaning he had great ties to the great Russian Empire.
But ever since the Crimean war,the tensions between the UK and Russia, have been rally stagnant and complicated.
Looking at his wife placing all items in large bags, she and her servants, left the room, and headed right into a carriage, to leave the place.
Cornelius just stood there, before returning to his work place and looking blankly at the window. Thinking about what just happened and then he fell asleep for good.
