“The place is surrounded by police tape for a reason.” The police officer said, tapping his pen against the table. Blair stared at her shaking hands, unable to find an answer to his comment.

The poster was a sickening bright blue and orange. The animatronics were centred in frame, holding their respective instruments, with large smiles on their faces. The animatronics were designed with an 80’s glamrock style in mind, hence their names. Earrings, leg warmers, brightly coloured face paint, it was a lot.
Blair felt a wave of nausea hit her as she stared at the poster. It was like a car accident, she didn’t want to look but she couldn’t pull her gaze away. The poster felt like a horrible reminder of… everything. As she stared at the poster with red, puffy eyes, rain droplets fell against the poster paper. Blair looked up at the sky, seeing the dark rainclouds rolling in. An accurate representation of how Blair was feeling in that moment.

Blair thought to herself. The distant sound of thunder scared her for a moment, pulling her from her thoughts. She pulled her eyes away from the poster, swallowing hard before she walked into the diner. It was empty, so the waitress let Blair sit wherever she wanted.
“Just a coffee for now. I’m waiting for someone.” Blair said quietly. The waitress just nodded, giving Blair a small squeeze on her shoulder in an attempt to comfort her. While appreciated, it didn’t help. Blair just gave a forced but polite smile.
