Paradox stood at the precipice of the crumbling doorway in the old apartment block. The carpet was once a bright teal but had long since faded to a dull brown. The numbers on the wall had long since fallen; all that remained were the outlines left by the dirt that remained on the wall . The only window at the end of the hallway looked out onto an alleyway, illuminated by a nearby streetlamp.
Paradox could hear footsteps on the other side of the door - then something very strange happened. The lights began to dim and flicker - and so did the view outside the window. Suddenly, the alleyway scene was no more, replaced by a brick wall directly outside. Paradox inhaled sharply. Somehow, they had already been discovered. The doorknob began to turn. Unfortunately for the person behind the door, unaware of the scene unfolding, Paradox would not have the time to exchange pleasantries, with agents breathing down their necks.
