The Twins Sparrow BOT 20-Apr-22 03:14 PM
Saintopia, that was the name of the mysterious kingdom their mother had spoken of. A kingdom so hidden, the naked eye could not see it. This kingdom can only be shown when a member of the royal family allows you to see it. And when that happens you are sworn to secrecy for the rest of your living life. They will make sure you keep this secret, even if it means you have eyes on you, even if you aren't aware of it. But the people of this hidden kingdom were the kindest people you would ever meet. There wasn't a stranger among the group, they were instant family as soon as you spoke to them. It was like heaven on earth. Who were these mysterious people? That is the question young Maverick and Myra had been thinking when their parents had begun to tuck them in for bed one evening, their dad laid beside Myra giving her nightly cuddles, while their mom rocked Maverick in her arms, both hoping to get their children settled for the night. But it seemed the kids had other ideas, especially Myra, as the little girl stood up looking towards her mother with a stern look. “Mummy, please tell us about the kingdom again, and who are the people you always tell us to be mindful of?” asked the toddler as their father laughed, pulling her back down to tuck her in. Their mother laughed softly sitting in the rocking chair, between the two beds.she carefully wrapped a blanket around her son as she smiled, “haven't you both gotten tired from my silly stories?” she asked with a kind smil, giggling softly when her daughter protested and her son ever so shyly shook his head no. “No? But have you heard me tell that story many times? Don't you want daddy to tell the story tonight? He is a fantastic story teller” Myra had a look of conviction on her little face as she looked at her father. “Werll, daddy tells good memories, like when he was a kid like me, but you tell the best stories!” she replied with a serious look. “Mavey agrees with me.” she replied pointing to her twin brother. the sudden attention of both of his parents, Maverick shied away. He hid in the blanket their mother had wrapped around him, causing Myra to smile proudly. “See, he agrees with me.” Their father chuckled softly. “Go on darling, I don't mind. I can always tell you my amazing stories. Besides, they will settle down and let us head off to our date if you do it” he teased his wife, giving her a wink as he settled back on Myra’s bed, getting comfortable getting ready for his wife to go ahead and start telling the story about the mysterious kingdom that their children have been obsessed with finding

Their mother chuckled softly. "Alright, alright. Laydown then my darlings, snuggle close." She smiled carefully, holding her son close. She watched as her daughter quickly laid down, getting comfortable in her fathers arms, waiting for her to start to tell the story. Once she was sure they were settled down, she began the story. "Now, the kingdom of Saintopia, is a magical kingdom that very few have seen." She began softly. "But, if you have seen it, then you would beg to stay, the place just felt heavenly. The village people were just so friendly, if they didn't know who you were, they made sure they would have you around for afternoon tea, just to welcome you to the kingdom." She chuckled softly, beginning to rock in the rocking chair. "The day I got to visit the lovely kingdom, I will never forget. My wonderful friend King Ryūjin brought Me to the woods. One late afternoon, he told me to never speak of what I was about to see. I had promised not to tell a single soul, but he forgot I tend to gossip to those who dare listen." She teased, causing her children to giggle softly. She smiled as she continued. "He told me. 'Olivia, please remember to never tell anyone about this place, my people are very important to me. And if anyone finds out that we are here, it could cause our people to suffer the consequences.' So, I said I wouldn't breathe a word. But he never said I couldn't tell my children." She smiled softly. "He took my hand and led me into the magical portal that was near a wishing well. He tossed a penny into the well and I had closed my eyes for a second before I felt a rush of cool air hit me as we stepped through. I hadn't realized we had appeared on a hillside that overlooked the kingdom." She very carefully stood up from the rocking chair, slowly walking towards Little Mavericks bed, laying down her sleeping son as she tucked him in. "Ryū turned me around, and there it was. The kingdom of Saintopia, I was finally there. There I met the mos

t wonderful people I will forever hold dear, close to my heart and never to forget." She smiled going to Myra kissing the top of her head, pulling the blankets over her. Myra smiled softly, starting to let her eyes close. "Mummy, will I ever get to go to Saintopia one day?" She asked, holding her stuffed rabbit close. Letting her parents tuck her in.

Her mother smiled softly. "One day my darling, when the royal family determines you are ready, they will bring you to the kingdom and you two can meet wonderful people. Now, you are a big brave girl for granddad now. Look out for baby mavey. Pinky promise ?" She asked to extend her pinky out to her daughter. Myra smiles gently wrapping her pinky around her mothers. "I promise." She whispered, watching as her parents kissed her head, ever so softly. Wishing her a goodnight, and sweet dreams before they left the room, leaving the twins to sleep and to dream of the mysterious kingdom that they both wished to visit one day. That was the last time Myra and Maverick saw their parents. When the twins had woken up the next morning they were greeted with the horrible news, that their mommy and daddy would not be coming home, but the twins would be living with their granddad john from that moment on. Myra had taken the news okay, her mother had given her a mission to take care of her baby brother, and that is what she was going to do. She had only cried for a little while, wishing her parents were still there, but she picked herself up and went to care for her brother. Who was taking it the hardest. The tragic day had happened when they were only six years old, now the twins were getting ready to celebrate their twenty-fourth birthday. They had decided to go off into the woods and spend some time walking, after Maverick found something they had been looking for, which they hoped to find some kind of sign for the portal their mother had told them about when they were kids. Myra had a tight hold on Maverick's hand as they walked through the woods. Looking for the old wishing well their mother had told them that was near the portal. Ever since their parents' passing, Maverick and Myra vad made it their life long mission to find the kingdom of Saintopia. So they could live in the story their mother had told them all those years ago, just one last time. Maverick h

ad stumbled upon a wishing well just that morning, like any other time they spy a wishing well, he had gone back to their cottage to retrieve his sister to bring her to the woods, in hope it was the correct well that would lead them to the portal. Myra turned her head to look at her brother, dragging him along behind her as they walked. She couldn't help but smile, he seemed tense and nervous. She understood, it wasn't everyday you stumbled upon a well in the forest, especially when they spent years trying to find the portal to a magical kingdom. She smiled, squeezing her brother's hand in hers. "Hey Mavey, it's okay really. There is nothing to worry about. If this isn't well in mom's stories then it's fine, we can keep looking. As long as we get to hang out, that's all I care about ." She smiled Maverick gave a small smile, nodded as they walked. He was afraid of what they would find, if this really was the portal, what were they supposed to do. In their mothers stories she had said they would have to be invited to get in. What if someone was waiting there for them, just to hurt them and kick them out. The six foot eight man sighed softly, trying to keep up with his sister as they walked. He didn't speak, just nodded at her words of comfort, he knew she was right, he just hoped everything would be okay if and when they found this well. The two suddenly came to a stop, staring at what was in front of them, the well. The well was grey and broken down, it seemed to have been built years ago, almost a hundred years if Maverick had to guess. As they got closer, the weird feelings they both began to feel grew. The two tightened the hold on each other's hands as they looked into the well. It was dark, and seemed to go on forever.

Myra gulped looking at Maverick. "Do you want to put the coin in,Or me?" She asked softly, trying to stay brave, but the uneasy feeling of being watched, caused her to feel very unsettled. When Maverick pulled the penny out of his pocket, he put it on top of their held hands. Signaling they would do it together. Which she didn't mind at all.She nodded "Alright, on the count of three. " "One….two….three" She said, together they tossed the penny into the well, they watched it fall into the never ending hole, waiting for something to happen, they waited a solid five minutes, and nothing had happened. That is until something had pushed them. They yelped as they fell into the well, falling straight into. Myra wasn't sure how long that had been falling, it couldn't have been more than a couple minutes, but when they had finally reached the floor, they landed hard. Maverick landed with a loud painful yelp. He had landed on his arm in an awful and painful way, as well as hit his head on the floor, while Myra landed on top of him, it knocked the wind out of him, causing him to try desperately to catch his breath. She whimpered slowly sitting up, trying to see what was happening. But as she got up, she began to feel lightheaded and unbearably tired. "Maverick, we are okay dont panic alright , we are….okay." She promised. The last words she heard as the world slipped away was. 'Yes, that's them. The king wants to see them.' When Myra finally came too, they were no longer in the well, but a fancy bedroom. She was laid on top of the bed, bandages on her scratches and glasses on the nightstand bedside her. She slowly sat up, placing her glasses on her face, groggily looking at the size of the room. It was nice, it reminded her of a castle bedroom, one a princess would live in. Her calm demeanor slowly turned to panic as she realized her brother wasn't there. She got up rushing to the door as she tried to force it open, she needed to find her brother. She didn't kn

ow where they were, and if she wasn't there beside her brother he would more than likely be freaking out. She couldn't have that, she would feel awful. As she pulled one last time, the door rushes opened revealing a tall person in front of her. Her eyes widened as she took a step back. She gulped. "H-hello, I'm sorry for intruding, but I need to find my brother. Do you know where he is? Or better yet take me to him, if i am not there with him he will surely be scared and i rather him not be. " She asked, trying to be as polite as she could, not wanting to scare the other, but wanted her point across that she needed to get to him quickly. She looked at the other and waited, hoping they were in any danger, but the feelings she was getting, they were in a lot more trouble then she realized.
