The year known to humans is the 800th marking as them having moved to Arrendyll 800 years ago from the east, travelling by sea as they ran from their old home Wellspring The remaining humans that survived fleeing in terror and refusing to talk about what had happened there with their children and so whatever it was that had managed to scare them from their homes was lost in time. But humans would be quick to find that they weren’t the first to move into the area. Elves already live there, smart creatures that lived in jungles, that tended to live for a little longer than humans. They were dexterous and taller making them much better at stealth and archery compared to their human counterparts although in feats of strength or endurance even the strongest of elves are unable to hold up against humans. And then around a hundred years later Dwarves appeared from the east they were much shorter than the other races, the tallest of them reaching only 4ft but they were sturdier and the average one was stronger than two men put together. Their craftsmanship was also in a league of its own making weapons far sharper and sturdier than other weapons and armour that’s lighter and more protective than the rest.
It didn’t take long for bloodshed to break out between the three factions, they’re equal might's leaving them deadlocked in a three-way collision as neither of the three factions could get a win over each other. The elves were too nimble, using poisoned arrows to take out anyone invaders, the dwarves being far too sturdy riding rhinos into battle using armour to keep themselves protected as they fought cleaved their enemies apart with heavy axes and hammers. The humans on the other hand were the best mix of the two as well as being much craftier then the other two factions where the dwarves had crafting and the elves had alchemy humans where able to grow faster in size then their enemies and then they were the first to discover magic. Fire burned where they did combat, wind whirled and lightning crackled as if the elements where on their side for a couple hundred years humans where winning. They forced the elves deeper into the thick jungle claiming more and more land as the dwarves were pushed back as well before the two factions were forced to join up against humans soon gaining the ability to cast magic as well. No one knew where the ability came from not even many got the gift of magic, out of every hundred only a handful got the ability to use magic and even then, their power varied greatly. Some could move mountains; cause hurricanes kill with just a flick of the hand while others could barely even form a shield.
Things were calm ever since then if you could call it that. Most people were quick to realise that they were evenly matched no side could beat the other. And so, a none said peace agreement seemed to fall on them, after centuries of bloodshed there was still a lot of hate but people were no longer fighting instead, they hid their hate through tightly veiled barbs. But there was peace, that was until the year 708th where monsters appeared through large almost living ships on the east, they were large, a couple feet taller than even the tallest of men and almost twice as thick. Their skin tended to be green or orange at times and they forced their way across the lands cutting a bloody path through Arendyll and making their own chunk of land. Any human army that tried to take back their land was torn apart and after a few decades they started to expand stealing land from all the nations as they beat back, Elves, Dwarves and humans without difficult. At times things felt helpless and for nearly a hundred years things have stayed like that until the 800th year where three factions plan to team up against this indomitable force was brought into place. They formed a school for mages, to build a future force honing their magical abilities and their connections to their spirits. That future force is you
