Peace was all Henry ever truly desired, to live a life free of suffering away from the claustrophobic human cities. He certainly never expected to find this peace as a slave, especially under the service of elves who easily captured him as he wandered aimlessly through the forest. He wasn't expected to last long as a servant, bound to make some mistake that wpuld upset the village elders enough to execute him.
And so several months passed, and Henry had built a reputation as the longest lasting slave this village has had in centuries. This brings his story to now, on the fateful night he had to make a choice.
A group of human warriors attacked the elven village to pillage and free their own kind. Henry was among one of these freed humans, he would have run if not for the things he witnessed, reminding him of the cruelty of man. In order to save an elven mother trying to protect her young, Henry stole the sword and crossbow from one of his liberators, killing them with a bolt to the chest and rushing to assist the defending parent.
He was just in time as one of the invaders knocked her to the ground, Henry cut them down without hesitation and shouted for her to take her child and go. This was his first kill and the blood on his hands caused a strange sensation he was not used to, a battle frenzy. Henry ran to join the defense, putting himself in harm's way to protect any elf incapable of defending themselves. It was quite the spectacle to any elven fighter that saw him, some had to double check that their eyes weren't deceiving them for the unthinkable was happening, a human slave was fighting for their elf masters.
