She looked back at Base and she continued, "Pan asked me to race him. He told me that he could fly, and I didn't believe him, because he had no wings! How could a boy without wings fly? So, I accepted. Little did I know, I would be destroyed!" She laughed, shaking her head. "He and I flew so fast and so far, that before I knew it, we were so far across Neverland that I couldn't see the Fairy Kingdom anymore! It was the first time I had ever been that far from the Kingdom, and I got scared that the Fairy King would punish me harshly for disappearing for so long."
She remember that the Fairy King had a bad temper, and she had hated him for it. If she had displeased him, he would often lock her in dark rooms to remind her not to misbehave. "But, Pan told me not to be afraid. He promised he wouldn't let anything bad happen to me. He took me right back and thankfully, the Fairy King believed that I was just off in the fields the entire time."
She flew down to Pan, and she took his hands in hers, giving his fingers a squeeze. "And ever since that day, he's kept that promise. All this time, he's kept me safe, and if anything bad ever did happen, he was there to help me. My 'Mystical Wingless Boy of Flight,'" She gave Pan a sweet smile and she leaned forward, pressing a gentle kiss to the corner of his lips. She wasn't trying to be overly affectionate in case Pan wanted to keep things more private between them, but she loved Pan, and she wouldn't feel ashamed for that.
Base grinned and nodded, "Now that is definitely a charming story! Pan's always keeping his promises. It's one of the reasons I like him so much." He said, "He's one of the most genuine people you'll ever meet." Base knew what it was like to live with liars and cheats, especially with his heartless and cruel mother. A woman who lied and cheated and threatened and harmed to get what she wanted. Pan wasn't like that. Pan was a mischievous person, sure, but he was no villain. Never. He was the guardian
