she sat in the corner of a cell in the dungeon. Her knees tucked tightly against her chest and her arms hugging them. Her stomach growled, it was evident she was not well taken care of. She was supposed to be their food, they weren’t supposed to have to offer blood to her. But she was entertaining, she was short, 5’2” and just slightly pudgy, she lost a lot of weight while being down here though, so that was now gone. She sniffled, tucking her head into her knees. She hated it here, last time she asked for food they laughed and had another human slide roasted garlic on a plate into the cell, she had pushed it into a corner
"You were dead how are you still standing." A terrified voice questioned trying to crawl away but he couldn't move far not when there were other dead bodies behind him and his legs, well they wouldn't be used anymore. "Monster." He called fear enveloping the man in a way that he hadn't felt in centuries as he struggled to meet the gaze of the tall blonde that stumbled towards him like an zombie.
The blonde looked towards his hunt as he stumbled closer to the man, his one good eye making out the blood coated the mans mouth, a chipped fang glistening in the light. The blonde man was clearly wounded himself, his right eye had been scratched out, blood dripped profusely from a gash that covered his chest that rise up and down with shallow and uneven breaths. He stumbled over towards the vampire his right leg not moving right before he lifted his sword and swung it making sure that the vampire would be unable to hurt anyone else again.
With that he explored the apartment his head tilting as he came across a make shift dungeon. He fowned looking around before he spotted a short white haired woman kept kn one of the cells. Walking over to her with a frown on his face born from pain he didn't trust his voice as he looked at who he assumed to be a human caged so he flipped his sword brandishing the pommel as a club.
With a strike of his arms he ignored the pain from the blade digging into his palms to break the lock open
the smell of his blood hit her like a freight train, overloading all of her senses. Her head shot up and her eyes went wide, then narrowed. They seemed to dull when she saw the blood, as if in a trance, crazed even, she bounded up from the floor and tried to claw at him through the bars.
She had completely lost control of herself, her head couldn’t fit through the bars so she couldn’t bite him. Though, her arms did reach towards him, she was desperate for a meal.
Now that she was closer, she looked paler than a person should, let alone the stereotypical vampire should. She hadn’t seen sunlight or moonlight for awhile now. They really wanted to push the limits of how immortal vampires really were.
Her nails were all bitten down until she couldn’t anymore, her clothes looked tawdry and were stained with mud and dried blood from her previous meals. To the stranger it just seemed like she was in this cell for a reason(edited)
She was a human, that was his first thought. She had to be why else would vampires keep her caged up. They were probably using her as a blood bag. With no idea why vampires wouldn't keep one of their own locked up and not simply kill them he was shocked as she suddenly shifted and changed when she smelt his blood.
She was a vampire he corrected himself instinctively gripping his sword more tightly making the blade cut into his palms because of his grip while he watched her shove against the bar trying to get to him unaware that the lock was broken.
He gripped his sword about to cut through her arm before he sighed and stopped himself. The fight would be much easier if he took off one of her arms but he was a gentleman. He didn't like harming women, not even the blood hungry vampires.
Stepping close to her, he decided to kill her as quickly. To make it painless as he gripped the cage door and pulled on it making the door swing out as an escape was revealed to her.

she ran for it- she ran at him- food- she blindly used the last of her strength, and she attacked, she didn’t want to, she didn’t mean to, but she did. Her jaw unhinged as she lunged for his neck, a single tear running down her face, she might not be able to remember the things she’s done but deep down she knows, but can’t take back control.
Her teeth found purchase in his neck as she devoured the innocent man. She just kept drinking until she couldn’t pull anymore blood, finally satisfied, and albeit really full- she finally snapped out of it, even with the blood still on his hand, she jolted back in fear. She knew what happened if she killed a “blood bag” and she backed up into her cell in fear before realizing- the cage was- open- the cage was open- she could run.
But what if this was a trap- what if they did something to her, she wiped her nose, she had started to cry, but she just ended up wiping blood off her face which just made her cry more. I- I’m so sorry- I’m sorry- I didn’t- I’m sorry-
her hands were shaking out of control, she just kept looking between the dead body and the door, torn between what to do
When she ran at him he tensed out of instinct his reflexes calling for him to move. To use his sword to at least try to fight back but he knew that the attempt would be pointless. He'd only cause himself more pain so he let her beat him planning to take her down once he woke up.
Getting killed by a vampire sucking his blood dry hurt, it was far from the first time it had happened and he doubted that it would be the last. There were worse ways to die though.
He wasn't too hurt so he healed quickly, his chest healed as the wound sealed shut, the bone of his ankle and ribs cracked back into place before he slowly opened his eyes once again and while blood caked his face neck and chest there was no longer any wounds on his well muscled body.
Her words surprised him as for a moment he stayed still surprised that a vampire would show guilt before he quickly sat up and pulled himself back on his feet his head tilting as he brought his sword up with him about to attack her before he paused seeing the look on her face and seeing the way she shook.
"I've never seen a creature of your kind show guilt like this. Why were you in this cage?" He questioned her his voice far from kind but he made no move to attack. Not yet at least.

I- I- she stuttered, terrified of him now well- they- I’m- she tried to take a deep breath in but it was shaky at best y you’re alive? I I didn’t- I didn’t hurt you? Y y you’re okay? she barely even processed his question, she was scared yet relieved, and confused but you’re heart stopped- I heard it stop- how- she scooted a bit backwards away from him I’m sorry I didn’t mean it- please don’t hurt me- I just want to see outside again- she hadn’t had anyone to talk to in some time
Reflexively he stood ready to fight his silver sword gripped in both hands as he lifted it to be level with his hip, the blade pointed away from his body in a stance that would make it easy to strike. He barely processed her words too, getting killed and then waking up again was always jarring for him. His muscles were tense as adrenaline flooded his senses while he took a step towards her his muscles flexing as he gripped his sword before he stopped his eyes looking into hers.
There was something in her eyes that stopped him from striking even if his every instinct was telling him to slay the vampire. “If I let you free would you make me regret it? You wouldn’t prey on innocent people would you?” He questioned her.

she coward in fear, paralyzed in place until he started speaking, she started to cry- then sob I didn’t mean to!!! I can’t help it! It’s not fair! I just want to go home… but home is gone. I don’t want to hurt anyone,.. Chester was not good with people. He never was and after spending life times hunting vampires he could barely remember the last time he had a normal conversation with another person. So when she cowered in front of him before she started to cry he didn’t know what to do how could he? When she yelled he just did the first thing he though of doing.
He put down his sword and walked closer to her before he raised his hand to her face and flicked the centre of her temple in a way that was meant to be gentle. “Please try to calm down.” He told her with all the grace of a truck. Looking away from her he stayed silent for a moment before he looked back at her again. “You can come with me. We can see what we can work out.”

He watched as she got up shaky feet not sure what to say to her at first and when she suddenly hugged him he froze unsure what to do. It had been so long since he had been hugged by anyone. Awkwardly he patted her back before he slid his hands down her body to her legs as he hooked them under her knees to carefully pick her up. "It's okay. I wanted you to kill me anyway it's how I heal." He told her in a voice that was supposed to be soft but came out a little gruff. With his calloused hands on her body to make sure that he wouldn't drop her he started to walk away from the dungeon she was kept in. "Since you can't control yourself you should stay with me. Don't leave the house until you can be exposed to blood without blacking out. I'll feed you since you won't be able to kill me."

He didn't realise notice the way that she stiffened in his arms or when she relaxed as he let his hands settle on her knees expecting her to stay pressed up against him. It was the easiest way for him to carry her after all. He did feel the way that she slumped up against him though and in reply he gripped her more tightly pulling her body against his. "I don't want to force you to stay with me but you said it yourself. You can't control yourself when your hungry for blood. So until you have yourself uncertain control I should keep an eye on you." He told her as he walked past the pile of dead vampires that decorated the hall on the way out. "Home. I'll take you home with me and since the sun's out its best that I keep carrying you."

Home? I can’t remember the last time I had a home- she pressed her face against him to avoid looking at the pile of corpses and that sounds reasonable…. I don’t trust myself alone anyway…. My dreams of freedom were of me all alone in a snowy tundra, away from the sun and people…. Wait the sun is out? Won’t that hurt though? @All time Jack
"It isn't anything special. Just a single-bedroom apartment but at least you won't be locked away.' He told her honestly quickly stepping over the bodies of the dead undead before he reached the doors to get outside. "Don't worry about the sun. Just hold onto me." He told her letting go off one of her knees and tore a blackout curtain from the wall. "Are you ready?" He asked her covering up her body with the curtain.

Single bedroom? she ducked her head under the curtain to protect her face from sunburn yeah I mean I guess I’m ready…. So uh- do you have any pets?…. Actually nevermind… I don’t want to hurt them… do you have a change of clothes? I don’t want to go into your home all dirty.., she was trying to show she could be humane… she didn’t want to be a monster like this
"We can figure something out when we're there like sleeping in shifts since there is only one bed." He told her softly watching as she ducked her head under the blanket while he let his hand gently cup her face over the curtain to make sure it covered her fully before he took a step outside letting the sun hit his body. With the curtains he was sure that she would feel the warmth of the sun but none of the danger. "When I first moved in there were a couple flowers but they died a long time ago. And they'll be pretty big but you can read some of my clothes." He said as he stood outside with his upper half bare. It would have been an interesting sight for any onlookers especially with her in his arms.

Anything is better than mud she just smiled softly, it was awhile since she felt warm and not just the cold damp floor, she yawned and closed her eyes. She just met this man but it was the safest she felt in years, she slowly started to drift to sleep nuzzled gently into his arms.@All time Jack
she slept like a rock all the way until they got back to his place, he would either have to wake her up or just lay her down and let her sleep, though she did say she wanted to wash up before hand….
"Well, I'm not going to force you to sleep in mud." He told her softly. Before he felt her nuzzle into him, making him pause as he realised that she had fallen asleep. He wasn't used to people trusting him enough to sleep in his arms. He got used to it quickly though as he got back to his apartment quickly and he was about to set her down in bed before he paused as he remembered how dirty she was when he found her.
Carrying her into the bathroom he pulled the curtain off of her, the blinds having been pulled down already. "Come on it's time to wake up already." He whispered while putting her down into the bathtub a calloused hand cupping her face to try and wake her up.

The thought of turning the tap in to wake her up did cross his mind but he decided against it as he kept his hand on her body, when she rolled over he let his fingers run through her hair. If he let her sleep in a bath he was sure that her body would protest when she woke or maybe he wouldn't he knew how sturdy vampires could be. Regardless he continued trying to wake her up and once he heard her question as she was up he hummed before he moved his hands up to the shower that was above the bath.
"You're in my apartment. You said you wanted to bathe remember? Do you know how to use a shower?"

she was used to sleeping on a dirty and stone floor, the bathtub was sadly an upgrade. no I - they normally just sprayed me with a hose… I haven’t used one since I was- 8? Her words made a frown grace his face quickly, not liking the way that she was treated. She was a vampire yes and he had devoted himself to slaying every vampire that threatened humanity but there was something about her that he just wanted to protect.

And your not clean but I've been so much dirtier then you at times that this is nothing." He told her before he pointed at the shower showing that there were two circular dials. "Twist the top one and you turn the water on and off, if you twist the bottom one you control the temperature. Right to make it hotter left to make it colder."

her feet did a couple tippy tappy, she stimmed with excitement and she nodded before turning back to the tub bye bye! she giggled as she turned the water on successfully this time I’ll be out soon! @All time Jack
When she said goodbye he turned away from her quickly and left to give her privacy expecting her to use the towel that he had left out. Of course he didn't really have any underwear for her so he just left out a pair of his own above a pair of joggers and a top that would be too big for her before he headed to bed letting himself flop down onto his merge matresss.

she would try her best to take a quick shower, she wasn’t used to actually having time, but she felt really dirty and wanted every layer of dirt off her, when she finally emerged she was wrapped in a towel squeaky clean, she poked her head out and he could see a small hand nah the clothes before shutting the door and changing it’s so big on me she giggled I’m too short for this she walked over and sat on the corner of the bed, kicking her feet, this was the best she felt in awhile, clean and fed
While she showered he gave her space as he lied on top of the blanket having already kicked off his clothes to replace them with something cleaner but he still didn't bother to cover up his chest. When she came over he looked over at her and smiled nodding back at her we he hew4r her giggle. "I'm sorry I don't have any clothes that would fit you any better then that." He told her watching as she kicked her legs up. "Make yourself at home just don't try to leave and warn me when you get thirsty."

That’s fair- she stood up again, now feeling a bit weird sitting on the bed near him. She had to remind herself she wasn’t human anymore…. Watching as she got up and sat on the floor he didn't really notice her change in mood as he slowly pulled himself up onto his feet. "Come on I noticed how tired you were when I was trying to wake you up. You should go sleep in the bed it'll be more comfortable." He told her not sure what else to say to her as he got up and stretched feeling the ache in his muscles. Of course it was more of a phantom ache since he had died before his body was in perfect shape now save for the scars that were visable on his body.

She was very thankful to him but also extremely guilty and would need time to feel like she wasn’t a burden it means a lot

"If you do your best you shouldn't have to see me dead." He reminded her softly since the whole point of it was to try and keep her from killing when she feeds before he nodded. "We wouldn't want you getting ill. And hopefully when you get better at controlling your feeding you won't feed to the point of getting ill."
I’m just used to only eating about once a week- or less- it was torture! And it’s what led me to such bad feeding habits to the point I can’t help it, I’ll try not to over feed but it might take me awhile… I’m sorry she hugged him tightly, and sniffled slightly, she never had anyone to talk to about this before@All time Jack
When she hugged him suddenly he tensed before he slowly started to relax his hand gently patting her back. "Well I know that I'm not really the easiest to live with but I promise that I wouldn't do anything like that to you. I'm gonna help you learn to control your hunger okay."

He listened to her words before he nodded quickly and leaned back on the bed to grab one of the pillows off if the left side of the bed. "Are you happy with having the left side bed? And if you want two pillows to lie your head on and two to rest your head on I should have some spare pillows." He told her as he started to get undressed for bed.

When he saw her using her hands to check her left and rights he couldn't help but smile as he watched her get comfortable before he looked away as he finished undressing and then joined her in the bed next to her lifting up the sheet so that he could get comfortable before he lifted it up for her too. "Try to sleep well. Maybe tomorrow we can try and figure more things out."

he was talking to a wall practically as the girl all cozy in pillows and blankets passed out instantly. She wasn’t used to actually being comfortable and it put her to sleep like a glass of warm milk. She looked quite peaceful when she slept. The fear and nerves vanishing from her face replaced with a soft sleepy smile. It was a miracle he rescued her, and for once in a couple of years, Ruby felt alive.
It took him a bit of time to realise that she had fallen asleep, when she didn’t say anything he turned his head to look at her and quickly realised that she was fast asleep making him smile. At least she slept easily. It took him longer before he was able to fall asleep as he laid in bed restless but eventually he was able to fall asleep too aswell. Once he fell asleep their agreement of not touching each other was forgotten completely as he turned into her his arms wrapping around her hips before he gently hugged her body against his chest, his strong arms holding her closely as he slept peacefully until the morning.

But the answer was obvious, it’s the first time someone cared. And she craved it
While he could wak up quickly whenever he felt threatned when he was relaxed he slept like the dead especially after a death. While dying reset his body it did nothing for his mental fatigue. He was still half asleep when he started to wake up, her words and squirming barely noticed before he slowly started to wake up. He lifted his head up as he woke up unused to his pillow being so warm and when he saw her his eyes widened. "I'm sorry." He told her softly as he lifted his head to look at her face before he carefully rolled off of her.

He raised a brow as he saw the way she pulled on the covered before he couldn't help but smile a little as he noticed how flustured she got. "I didn't think that would happen. I can't really remember the last time I shared my bed with somone. Did you not like it that much?" He asked her softly before he gripped the blanket and gave it a small tug coaxing her to uncover herself.

He was surprised to hear that things had happened the way that they did as he lookd back at her in thought watching as she poked her head out while red faced. "I'm sorry that's how i thought I would have reacted. It's the way I react when people wake me up trying to kill me. "I think it might work." He told her as he watched her pull the covers down before he started to gently run his fingers through her hair. "You could also bite me to wake me up if it's ever urgent and yelling doesn't work. It'd give me a startle but I don't sleep close to my sword so while I might react a little strongly before I realise it's you I wouldn't be able to cause you any real harm.

You'll learn to control it one day and I'm sure that you'll be able to feed on people without hurting them."

I mean- I’m like- I’m not used to eating two days in a row… I know that’s not normal but- I need to get into a better routine before I accidentally drink too much again- smaller doses more often instead of the large ones when I’m really hungry..,. So maybe we wait until lunch or something? Most vampires don’t need to drain someone dry to feed….

I don’t know- they havent bothered giving me real food since I’ve been a vampire… and the only feed me when they had leftovers or they noticed I was about to die… they liked having me around to clean up the house

Sure, I’m not opposed to trying things, I used to LOVE food muffins where my all time favorite- I miss muffins- specifically corn muffins- they were the BEST, oh I’m rambling again…. she bit her lip embarrassed. She never had anyone to talk to now that she had the chance sometimes she just couldn’t stop, her eyes stopped darting around as his finger rubbed against her side comfortingly, she was right back to flustered

"I promise and you should know that I never go back on my word." Getting up he nodded back at her as he left the bed to reach into his drawer quickly pulling pit a pair of underwear. Even if they were too big for her he knew that they would be better then nothing. "Would you like to come with me to buy you new underwear or should I go by myself." I can help it as long as no one is bleeding… the smell really gets to me… she shuddered at his touch and blushed I I just have to tie the waistband- t thanks she took them and immediately put them on. After the underwear of course. She felt a lot more comfortable having been actually dressed. She would be more comfortable around him later but she was still just too flustered around him. She never fancied anyone in the hideout, they were all too mean. So this was the first time she had a crush on someone and it was hitting her hard. From being shy and self conscious to having feelings and urges she never had before. Opening up a drawer Chester pulled out a small box before he hoped it up showing a couple containers that held a purplish powder. "Vampires that know about the verbena leaf wouldn't talk about it becasee it makes them ill but it's a good way to weaken vampires without causing any lasting damage." He told her and once she revealed athat she was dressed he turned to face her before he walked over to her and stood in front of her smiling as he heard her mock complaint. "At least it will protect you from the sun better." He told her before he reached for her gently trying to take her hand to help her stand up. "Let me try and help you make your clothes fit better."

Oh… that…. Stuff… yeah it works but too much makes me throw up… they used to put it in my food in doses to see how much it took to incapacitate one of them… but hey they fed me a lot that week so…. Yay? Verbena blood tea is- a very weird feeling. the blood would start to heal her but then the vervain would stop it but it was still food, so she would heal at a human pace instead. thank you she stood patiently waiting for help oh can I get a hat?
"I could probably mix it in water to weaken you so that you would be easier to restrain if you did lose control but I don't want to expose you to vervain unless it's necessary." He told her as he put the box down and once she stood waiting for his help he gently moved his hands to her sides his fingers gripping the bottoms he gave her to pull them up as much as he could before he folded it and carefully tied the laces together to help keep the bottoms from falling down.

Looking down he didn't see the way that she flushed nodding back at her as she thanked him. "The bigger the clothes the less likely that you'll be exposed to the sun." He told her and once he had her bottoms secured he tucked the long shirt into her bottoms so that they wouldn't look too weird. "Do you want me to roll them up for you?" He asked her keeping his hold on her gentle. "At least with how short you are you'll be less noticeable. I don't have any hats but I can buy you one."

He told her bluntly but there was no heat to his words as he let go off her and stretched before he turned away letting her see his back in a way that left him defenceless. I was kidding about the fire silly goose she looked at his arm, hesitating before loping her arm in his and pulling the hood up with her free hand i’ve never caught on fire before I don’t think it’s going to happen now she laughed at the thought I don’t really think any of us would survive because we can’t go into someone’s home without permission and everyone sleeps at night so wild night the best time to go out and look for people reliable to feed a whole clan. They need early and late part of the day to get to and from home she shrugged

He watched her carefully as she cam out side holding onto her gently as she was hot, he watched her face seeing the way she squined and pulled onto her hood, fixing her sleeves to cover up her hands. “We can get you some clothes that fit you properly for when you’re inside but the clothes you wear outside should probably be a bit too big for you when we’re outside.” He told her letting go off her so that she could undo her sleeves before he wrapped an arm around her waist and started to lead her steps. “Is it too bright out for you? If you want I can carry you around and you can shut your eyes until we can get you some sunglasses.” He offered her.

He hadn’t realised that the clothes were so big for her that they were at risk of falling off of her until she told him after all. “If you change your mind I’d be okay with carrying you. Do you want to look for clothes first or do you want to go for a walk?”” He spoke before he calmly lead her outside glancing bsck at her as he felt the sun beam down on his face before he glanced back at her in thought. “It’s strange even with how covered up you are you’re taking the sun far better then any vampire I’ve ever seen.”
Well walking into town is a walk in itself is it not? I think I would enjoy the walk much more if I’m in clothes that fit me … she paused and thought about it for a moment am I really? How? It just makes me kinda itchy and hot… even if you carry me it would really change anything…she pushed onwards through, being free was well worth the discomfort@All time Jack
"And sunglasses too I'm sure. We'll find you a pair to wear." He promsed her as he walked with her. "I'm not sure how but you must be different someway because you do seem resistant to the sun. If more vampires were able to move around in the day like you can I have the feeling that they would have been much more powerful. Especially back when the houses were just made made from flimsy thatching and wood that could just be destroyed or burnt down." He explained to her as he lead her to the nearest clothes store.

“Well to be honest if I could choose between being killed by the sun and having weaker powers I would choose weaker powers so I would say they were the ones who ended up unlucky.” He told her sure that the sunlight was uncomfortable for her so he moved quickly not making any detours as he continued to walk towards the store calmly leading her inside once they got there.

He had long ago grown used to how many clothes there was compared to the time that he was used to and yet sometimes how far humans had advanced was still a surprise to him. It was quickly made clear to him that he would nee to adjust to how excitable Ruby as he watched her run off when she saw another item of clothing before he could even answer her question. Nevertheless he still followed after her and since it was clear that she did want it he carried the dress that she had picked out with it. "That's a lot better from protecting you from the sun then the dress. We can get a couple things for night and a couple things for day." He told her as he lifted up the turtleneck and pressed it against her to measure it up the same way he did the dress. "Do you like pink and red stuff?"

She was the least vampiric vampire that he had ever seen, he had met bakers who were less put off by blood then she was. He wasn’t complaining though he was happier spending his time with her than someone that would drain the blood from someone without a second thought. “I’m coming.” He told her sounding exasperated but he couldn’t help the small smile that crossed his lips. “Really don’t worry about the money of you want it and if you’ll wear it then I’ll buy it. That’s fine with me.” He told her not sharing her excitement but he was calm at least.

HOW ARE YOU NOT EXCITED ABOUT THIS!? she was bouncing up and down before turning around and giving him a tight squeeze, she didn’t have anyone ever care for her before it has a POCKET! she beamed and looked up at him with puppy eyes still feeling like she had to ask before she picked anything up
She was still surprising him with how excitable she was, how she had so much energy he was unsure. Was it because she was happy that she was finally free from the cage that she was kept in or was she always this excitable? Still, he smiled back at her as he happily picked up the clothes that she wanted so badly grabbing them before she would even get the chance to ask. “I guess it might be because I won’t be wearing any of the clothes that we’re buying. I was never very excited about clothes anyway but if getting them makes you feel happy then I’m happy to buy you whatever you want.” He promised her.
Really he felt bad he didn’t know how long she had been held hostage for but he had the feeling that she had spent a long time not being able to choose her clothes. “Let’s just try to get enough for a couple of days though. We can get you more clothes on a different day.” He was mostly just worried that they’d spend so much time shopping that she’d get hungry again. That and he didn’t want to carry too many clothes back with him.

it was a mix of both, easily excitable BECAUSE she was so new to actually being treated decently r right sorry I didn’t mean- she just nodded and stared at the floor trying not to look at any more clothes I didn’t mean to- never mind she saw another red item out the corner of her eye and looked the other direction immediately but her head slowly turned towards it j just one more- please? it wasn’t her usual style of what she liked but the rich red attracted her like a moth to a flame. It was a long floor length gown with a high slit in it and a sweetheart neck line oh nevermind I can’t pull that off- she frowned a bit it even had some colored glass embellishments, no real crystal but it was made to look much more expensive than it was, like a highschool prom dress, it screamed ruby if she ever went to an evening event but she didn’t feel like she was allowed to wear something that nice@All time Jack
When he noticed her become less excied at his words he felt a litle bad. Did he come across as too gruff? Or did she simply mistake his words? Yes He meant what he said about not wanting to grab too much but he wasn't trying to admonish her. Before He could say anything he watched her reaction as she saw something but he wasn't really sure what. His gaze following hers before she seemed to lose her conviction and he watched her He didn't act until she finished speaking when she said why she didn't want it anymore he hooked the rest of the clothes in his hands onto the rack and plucked the dress off before he wrapped an arm around Ruby's waist. "If you want it then we'll get it. It's no big deal." He told her before he pressed the dress over her body careful not to touch her anywhere intimate as he looked over her body picturing her in the dress. "I think you would look pretty in it."

He told her with a small smile before he nodded listening to her laugh before he heard her question his hands lingering on her hips as he held her close. Not really noticing his affect on her. "Of course we can." He told her leaning into her body before he slowly pulled the dress off of her and then reached to grab the clothes that he had left hanging up. "I told you money isn't an issue. Just remember that this is gonna be far from the last time we go clothes shopping and maybe next time we go they'll have even new stuff in stock. How about when we get back you can try on your dress." He suggested to her softly.

Not realising how he was affecting Ruby simply smiled at her and quickly followed her over to the register his free hand gently reaching for hers as he let his fingers thread with hers walking over to the register where a woman was running the till.
"Hi how may I help you?" The woman asked giving a service smile."
"Just these please." Chester answered placing the clothes down carefully for the woman to bag and scan before Chester paid for them with a "thank you."
"Bye now, you know you're lucky getting your boyfriend to buy so many clothes for you." The woman said playfully.

Being called Ruby's boyfriend Chester paused for a moment before he simply shrugged his shouldiers and carefully picked up the bag his other hand still holding onto Ruby's hand as he absentmindedly rubbed Ruby's knuckles with his thumb before he stood up straighter and gently guided the woman out of the store. "Do you want to just go for a walk and see if anything catches your eye before we go back to the house?" He asked her softly.

He didn't really care much for the difference between a pillow and a plushie so they were a perfect match. Her words made hin smile a little at her softly before he shook his head. Even if he wasn't great at noticing it he had grown to miss the companionship of others, and it helped that he knew that she wasn't going to age much like him. So long as she didn't hurt anyone he was happy to indulge her and so far she hadn't really gave him much of a reason to worry. "I understand that a cow represents a milkshake but what do you want that would represent a smoothie" He asked her curiously as he absentmindedly squeezed her hand gently. "We can get whatever you want. I don't mind really."

I honestly- didn’t think of that I just was trying to think of what was similar to a milkshake i forgot about the cow part already she frowned now genuinely perplexed, she was going to just grab another cow but now she didn’t want another cow she just wanted beverage named friends a pink - FLAMINGO!

Hearing her huff before she placed them down on to yhe counter he smiled as he heard her words before he gently placed his hand on top of her head and gently brushed hid fingers through her hair. "You don't have to sleep on the floor. I'm okay with them being on the bed." He told her softly his hand gently rubbing her head.
Once everything was placed on the counter he happily paid for the three things, the two plushies being put into a bag in case it rained before he picked up the sunglasses and held it out for her. "The brightness hurts your eyes right? Try these on."

Hm? she had grabbed the bags possessively before slowly looking up at him yeah it’s really bright but - oooo what’s that they’re pretty she took then trying to figure out what they were, she had been under the ground a very long time and couldn’t remember what glasses were until it finally clicked aren’t these usually clear? she slowly put them on shocked by everything changing color to what it felt like when she blacked out in hunger but it was a very different shade of red so that feeling subsided as quickly as it came woah- how do these- what do they do? @All time Jack
He smiled a little as he saw how she grabbed the bags possesively before he watched as she put on the sunglasses calmly watching her reaction to him. Before he answered her questions he gently gripped her free hand and guided her out of the store. "They're called sunglasses. I don't fully understand all the intricacies of them but the lenses that you see out of are darkened plastic. They make bright lights like the sun look less bright. Do you like them?" He asked her softly as he gently gave her hand a small squeeze while he lead her home happily taking the slower scenic route through a park.

I don’t know what they look like is all she squeezed his hand back it makes it much easier to see outside though I can say that! she looked back at him suffering a lot less from the sun, it was a huge improvement to say the least. I just know I have to change their water out all the time or I would get yelled at for letting them die too early….. so jugs works- lots of water for them all! I used to have to tend to the garden for them so I know some…..

He wasn't normally a tender person, or maybe he was. He couldn't remember the last time that he was able to become close to another person after all. He gave up long ago knowing that he would outlive anyone who wasn't a vampire and it wasn't like he got along with many vampires but there was something about her.
Maybe it was because of how innocent she was that made him feel protective of her.
He watched as she fell asleep and let go off the flowers making him smile before he leaned forward and carefully put the flowers she gathered into a bag before he gently picked her up in his arms along with the bags planning to carry her back.

she once again couldn’t help but cuddle into him. She was blinded by the kindness he has shown her cause her to not so much as twitch an eyelid as she was whisked away. She was indeed very easily put to sleep by his touch, it made her feel safe in a world that didn’t want here there@All time Jack
He couldn't help but hug her body more closely against his as he felt her body cuddle into his. His arms held her protectively as he felt how much she trusted him by how deeply she slept in his arms. He wasn't often much of a protective person but with her he didn't want to fail her not with how much she trusted him. He didn't want her to regret putting her faith in him.
While he carried her in his arms he was careful not to damage anything he was carrying. Not the new clothes, not the flowers and certainly not her. Things became difficult when he reached the door to get into his apartment. The doors to enter the complex were automatic so they were easy to get into but the other door wasn't.
Not when his hands were full. Leaning into her he gently blew into her ear. "I need you to wake up now Ruby." He told her soflty before he started to gently nibble at her earlobe.

He smiled as he heard her groan into his chest even if he did want her to wake up he couldn't help but think that she was being sweet. He realised that she was awake when she squeaked and tried to speak making him hum as he gently nibbled her ear one last time before he gently released her ear.
He thought about putting her down before he thought of something else not wanting to let her go just yet. "Wrap your arms and legs around me Ruby. I need to have my hands free."

"Now how about I get us a glass big enough to hold all the flowers and you can arrange them however you want." He suggested to her his arm wrapping around her waist as he carried her over to the kitchen.

"After you're done let's go into the kitchen you can feed from me while we sit in the bath." He offered her as he filled the glass before he placed the cup down in front of her.
