The kingdom of Cindonia was known for its strict royal family, but the rules were simply in place for the rest of the kingdom to prosper. The kingdom was filled with people who focused on their passions and their happiness, prospering from the wealth the kingdom held. While they weren't necessarily a nice kingdom, they were rarely threatened by other kingdoms. War hadn't hit their front in many years, and yet there seemed to be a darkness brewing within the shadows. King Harrison and Queen Elenore had four kids. Three boys and a girl. The eldest was known for his harsh ways around others, though maids and other servants seemed to be treated well by him. Often it was speculated that it was simply due to his rake nature, unable to settle down but a flirt nonetheless. The daughter of the royals was a picture of grace to others, but her family knew well of her spoiled nature. Twin boys were the youngest of the Cindonia line, and they were everything to be expected. Pranksters and always in endless trouble, yet greatly loved by all.

Zenon, the eldest son, sat within the royal study going over the royal reports for the month. His father had begun to delegate a small part of the task to him, to prepare him for his future as king. Dreadfully boring however and Zenon laid his head in his hands, running his hands through his hair before he heard a commotion within the halls, a struggle. He stood, his chair screeching back as he watched the guards drag a prisoner towards the throne room for judgement, a raggity cloak concealing the appearance of the prisoner. He followed the guards from a distance before slipping into the throne room, watching as the guards threw the prisoner to the floor. Zenon moved towards his father, his steps slow but wide, calculated. He stood beside Harrison, staring with a cold expressionless face. "Speak your name." King Harrison's voice seemed to echo louder in the throne room and the guards grabbed the hood of the cloak pulling it, and her hair, back to make her face the king. Zenon tensed when he saw her eyes, something about her felt like she could see right through his cold appearance, like she could see the young boy wearing a crown too big. When his father stood Zen snapped out of the daze, watching as he walked towards her. He knew nothing bad would happen to the girl, as long as her intentions were true. He turned his gaze back to the girl, his father's sword tilting her chin up in a glare. "I demand you speak before you cannot." Zenon looked over the girl. She seemed thin, the freckles and dirt all seemed to blend together on her face, her hair disheveled. But despite all of that her blue eyes were piercing, brave. @𝓢𝓪𝓫𝓫𝔂

Calia Verena BOT 4/21/2024 5:43 AM
How did I end up here was the only thought running through the young changelings mind. Hours before she was running through the enchanted forest, far from home as she wasn’t welcomed after they discovered who she was. A changeling, the devil of all faes, the monster of all creatures. Pantings as she heard the voices of her kingdoms guard fading in the background “Hurry! She’s over there, you make a left, you, go right!” Slowly fading as she would be out running the guards She stopped in a secluded area to catch her breath, not knowing she stepped foot into another kingdom, the kingdom of Cindoina. She’s heard tales of this kingdom, ruled with an iron fist by the strict King Harrison and his family. As she was catching her breath, the redhead leaned against the tree, moving her hand past her face so her pointy ears would look like normal human ears, and then moved her hands down to her torn outfit, ready to repair it when suddenly she heard a loud “HALT” The changeling froze, and in a blink of an eye she was surrounded by Cindonia guards holding their weapons to the outsider, as she took a harsh gulp, feeling one of the guards icy hands around her delicate wrist, pushing her towards the castle… As she saw the castle her eyes widen with curiosity, horror, fear.. the castle was huge, beautiful even “Le-let me go!” she said, struggling trying to break free of the guards grip as they pushed her through the doors and forcing her down the halls , as one if the guards would grab the cloak and toss it over her before they made their way towards the throne room “Please! Let Me go!” she spoke her voice quivering as they pushed her pass the prince “SILENCE! Prisoner, or I’ll behead you before you see the king!” the guard spoke, looking towards the prince with a subtle nod with respect and then made their way towards the throne, not knowing the prince was following them

Entering the throne room, Calia felt the tension in the air, as her breath hitched, hearings the coldness of the kings voice. The cloak being ripped off her to reveal the rather young women, who looked around 23. Her red hair all over, her face red, embarrassed and scared as she looked at the two men infront of her, seeing the king approach her, her breath quivered as she took a slight step back looking towards Zenon and then towards the king “C-Calia.. Calia Verena” she said, her voice quivering trying to force those words out “I- I didn’t mean to intrude on your lands—“ she said cutting it short unsure if she should continue, she couldn’t tell them she was from Embercrest, the neighboring kingdom as she knew they would question her “I don’t mean any harm” she quickly spat out looking towards Zenon, oddly finding some sort of comfort in his piercing gaze

The king tensed and looked her over. "Miss Verena. I take it you don't realize how close to the palace you were, if your words are true. We cannot simply let you go." His words were calm, but stern. "You will spend a few days, perhaps weeks in the cells. Then after, perhaps you may leave." He glared at the girl. He turned and went to wave off the guards when his son spoke. Zenon, watching, already knew her fate. They would question her and if they believed any foul play, they weren't opposed to using force. "Might I suggest we send her to prisoner chambers after a day or two? While we may not know much about her, our people are already on the brink of fearing us. If she's important to them, there's no way they won't begin to be uncertain about their royals. I will personally seal off her room and ensure her stay." He glanced at the girl, hesitant. This was a shot in the dark and if anything were to happen he would be at fault. The king hesitated before turning to the guards. "Her fate will be decided later. Take her to the cells." He glanced back at his son before he turned away to leave the room, the guards dragging the girl out. At her shouts one yelled for her to be silent and she no longer had a voice to yell with. The head guard smirked at taking away her voice and they pushed forward. Zenon was tense and left. There was nothing more he could do at that moment. She was bound for the dungeons. Hours passed and Zen had a plan to visit the girl. A teal clock covered his head and he carried a small basket with food. At the entrance of the dungeon the guards hesitate before letting him in. It was uncommon for him to bring food around to prisoners. Zen passed a few cells, setting small packages within the opening and moving on. He stopped at Calia's cell and set the food in the opening of the cell, his hood covering half of his face. "Food. Eat it wisely." He glanced at the prisoner in the cell beside Celia and shook his head. "None for you today."

The prince then turned his attention to Calia. "Why are you here? Where are you from?" His voice was rough and uncaring. He wanted to see if she would share with the one beside her or not, to catch who she was as a person. Whether she knew survival was necessary or if kindness could kill. @𝓢𝓪𝓫𝓫𝔂

The Changelings face turned pale hearing the kings harsh voice, as she gulped trying not to panic. Days to weeks in a cell for accidentally intruding their lands as she hung her head low trying to process it all until she heard the prince speak. Her eyes look towards him once more as she would slightly furrow her brows wondering why he made such a suggestion. Of course, she wasn’t going to question it. But it failing, Calia would let a quiet sigh putting up a fight as the guards would drag her, screaming “PLEASE! PLEASE IM SORRY” as the guard reprimanded her to be quiet or they would hurt her Calia would immediately shut up, and just let them take her, her body going limp trying to make it hard for them. The guard would toss her into the cell, locking it as Calia would notice the bars were made of iron.. the one thing she knew she couldn’t touch or she’d get burnt. A frustrated look on her face as she didn’t want to get to close either, for if she accidentally burned herself, she wouldn’t be giving away the fact she was a supernatural. The guards would smirk too one another and then go off to guard the doors, it felt like days passed by as Calia would be sitting in the corner, hugging her knees and quietly crying to herself until she heard a soft spoken voice “Food” the voice said as the girl would lift her head up to noticed the hooded figure.. skeptical she would get up, her eyes puffy from crying as she would carefully grab the food and inspected it unsure if it was safe or not to eat. She looked at the man as he would grab a small piece and bite into it to show her it wasn’t, as Lia would nod slowly and begin to dig in

“I-“ She paused swallowing the food unsure if she really wanted to answer him. Afterall he could just he here to get information out of her “I— Why do you want to know?” she said tilting her head trying to make out who this was “I don’t want to disclose any information if there’s anybody around me” the changeling said nudging her head towards the person next to her, and then the guards “If you want to know this information then you must take me somewhere private, where it’s just the two of us” she said with a soft smirk, proud of her answer

The prince stared down at the princess and shook his head. "You look proud of that. You should know that's not an option. You trying to escape would cause even more trouble for you. Then you wouldn't be protected within bars." He scoffed and turned away. An old woman turned to the prince from a neighboring cell. "Thank you prince... The food you give is more than we get all day." The prince turned and crouched down, his hood falling off and he smiled. "Greta I'm glad I can be here. I'm just lucky the guards haven't stopped me or told the king. If they did, I wouldn't be here to give the food anymore." He shrugged before he stood again. "I'll see you tomorrow." He glanced at the changeling before turning away and heading towards the door. @𝓢𝓪𝓫𝓫𝔂
