Rayena was in her chambers within the tower, reading a book by the fire. She heard the rain patter against the window. The occasional flash of lightning flooding her room and then the boom of the thunder. Though, it didn’t scare her, not anymore. The thunder used to scare her, when she was a little girl. Yet her mother always used to calm her, she missed her deeply.
Another flash of lighting filled her room with light but instead of the following boom of thunder, the roar of a dragon followed. She grew confused, she hadn’t heard about a dragon in the Storm’s lands. Let alone hearing about a Targaryen gracing the people of Storm’s End with their presence.
The bastard woman rose from her seat, putting the ancient book down as she walked over to the window. She gasped when a great big beast flew past her window, causing the window to rattle, from the force of the winds.
Without even thinking, she quickly followed the dragon. She left her room and followed the dragon from the inside. She caught glimpses of the dragon and she knew who it was. It was Vhagar, the oldest living dragon. Which meant the Prince Aemond was here, which intruded her. Her father must’ve been keeping this under lock and key.
She found herself in the grand hall. Her half sisters on either side of their father. She knew her father had no problem with her, she actually happened to be his favorite. He actually loved her mother and well, Rayena was “actually useful”. She got information and she got results.
Though, she snuck out of the grand hall, going through the secret passageways. She felt the ground shake as Vhagar and finally, found the door she needed. She pushed opened the stone door and saw the great beast getting settled as her rider, Prince Aemond, descend from the saddle. She was enthralled about the great beast. She always wondered what it was like to be a dragon rider.
