Today clearly wasn't a productive day. He had been hunting since the past hour. His boots were muddy and caked in wet dirt. The weather wasn't great yesterday, it had rained all day and now the ground was far too soft. His boots sunk into the ground with each step he took which caused each step to be more of an effort then he wished it to be. He was just glad that his boots were secured to his feet properly. It wasn't raining when he went out, he had looked out and there wasn't a single sign of rain at first but not long into his outing it started to rain. The rain was only light at first but it turned into a heavy down pour in no time. In the end he gave up, and decided to trudge home. If his clothes were this wet then he knew that his arrows would be too and while he knew that he could use his bow during the rain he had no desire to hunt anymore. He sensed someone as he walked home. He didn't see her, but he could hear her however. As he noticed her he slung his bow back over his shoulders before he walked over to the source of the noise. "Is someone there?' He called as he walked over. "You'll freeze if you stay here." He warned. @reddeЯ

the tiny fox-girl was curled up under a log. She hated the wet. It was cold, and made her fur clump up and stick out. She'd tried to get out of the rain under the log, but the water just came in with her. So she curled up and shivered and tried to sleep. It was a man's voice that woke her. It was still raining, and cold, and wet, but she could hear his steps coming closer as he warned her out of the cold. She knew it was cold. She was shivering from it! She had no intention of coming out of her hiding place, but then his steps dislodged a branch, and a deluge of water washed her out from under the log, choking and sputtering and disoriented. She ended up upside-down in the mud, looking up at a fierce-looking man with a bow- something she had learned to avoid- and clothes as wet as she was all over. She waved, then sneezed cutely three times. It was hard to believe she had fit under the log she'd washed out from, with how big she was. She was a tiny thing, but didn't seem that tiny. @All time Jack

He felt bad when he noticed what his steps did, clearly they made her even wetter and noticeably made her choke and sputter. "I'm sorry." He apologised to her softly before he couldn't help but smile as he watched her wave and then sneeze. She was cute he found himself thinking as he dismissed the question in his head about how she had managed to fit in such a tight space. "Come on how about you come home with me to escape the rain at least. I think the weather's gonna get worse." He added before he crouched down and tried to gently pick her up off the ground and into his arms as if she weighed nothing. @reddeЯ

her first impulse was to run, bite, scratch, escape before the danger could get her, but she was miserably wet and cold, and instead just sort of drooped pathetically as he picked her up, looking much like a wet cat with the way her bright orange ears were weighed down by the water. Once he picked her up, he would notice she wasn't exactly tiny. Still quite small and easy to carry, but decidedly not tiny. She was awkward to carry draped over an arm like a kitten. "Just don't eat me, I taste very, very bad." She muttered, not even able to find the energy for much attitude. "And I'm cold, you wouldn't want a cold dinner, right?" She wore a vibrant kimono dress that was a splash of bright color. Paired with her hair, it was a wonder she had been able to hide at all. She stood out like a neon light. @All time Jack

He felt how cold she was in his arms as he held her and he couldn't help but worry. He was cold too but he had the relief of knowing that he could go home to warm up. Was she really going to try and sleep outside? He paused for a moment as he heard her words surprise framing his face before it was replaced by disgust. "I wouldn't eat you. I wouldn't want to eat you." He told her quickly before he shook his head to relax himself. "You're far too human for anyone to eat even if you aren't human." He told her soflty as his eyes glanced at her ears before he fixed his grip on her body. To make her easier to carry he hooked one of his arms under her knees while the other supported her back in a bridal carry. "Come on are you hungry? Let's warm you up and then we can eat together. Does that sound good to you?" He asked and even as he popped the question he was already carrying her home with him. @reddeЯ

Youko wrapped her arms around his neck, holding on tight and ruining his bridal carry. He only needed one arm, wrapped around the back of her thighs, to keep the small creature in place. She was small, probably no taller than the middle of his chest. Holding her like that, he would discover she also had a long, bushy, orange-y red tail that was just as waterlogged as the rest of her. However, her cold skin made it quite clear she didn't have enough fur to keep her warm through the wet. However, not one to be easily tricked, she pulled her head back to look him in the eye. Her own eyes were quite dark, almost black, except for the orange-y red ring around her iris. "I'm not human, and lots of things have tried to eat me." She pointed out indignantly. Then she frowned, tilting her head as a though occurred to her. "If you don't want to eat me, what do you eat? I don't like... uh... some stuff." It wasn't true in the least. She could eat practically anything, and often did. Her diet was the same as the fox she resembled, meaning nothing was off limits. Her small, sharp teeth were well suited to eating anything from candy bars to centipedes and anything else she could get in her mouth. She just didn't trust this stranger, and wanted to make sure he wasnt really just trying to get her somewhere he could have a bite without her realizing it. @All time Jack

She may have been tiny and easy to carry with just one arm but he doubted that such a carry would be comfortable for her if he carried her that way. So he let both of his arms hook under her knees not really minding that she ruined the bridal carry as he felt the way that her soaked body clung to his. His eyes looked into hers calmly as she spoke before he hummed and pulled her body more closely against his as he walked with her. "You're human enough to me that I wouldn't want to eat you. I generally don't like eating things that can communicate back with me." He explained before he glanced at her lips focusing on how sharp her teeth looked. "What do you like to eat? I was trying to hunt a deer before it started raining because I'm starting to run out of meat back home but I was planning to make dinner tonight with the left over Pheasant that I had. Maybe some Pheasant, bread, cheese and some vegetables. How does that sound to you?" He asked her before he gripped her thighs more firmly as he started to walk through a muddy slippery marsh. @reddeЯ

he was warm, and she was more than happy to cuddle close, tucking her cold nose against his neck to warm it up. If he could hunt deer, he must be a great hunter. The best she'd ever caught was a large rat, and that was with help from her siblings. "Oh, I'll eat anything, really. Mostly just anything I can find that's good. But meat is my favorite. Especially that meat that comes in little fingers, all stuck together, end to end. Those are my favorite!" She was warming up just from having a warm body next to hers, and her talking animatedly was helping as well. She had a twinkle in her eye that wasn't there before, and color seemed to be coming back into her face. Though clearly quite drenched, so much that it was soaking through any dry layers he'd had left, she still had a lot of vigor left in her. Now that she was reasonably certain she wasn't going to be eaten, she was much more comfortable with this guy. With a sudden burst of movement, she shook herself vigorously, making her ears flap and sending water flying in every direction. Then she tucked herself right back against his shoulder, putting her cold nose against his neck again. "You know what, Mister, I'll eat anything. Just so long as it isn't wet." She muttered a bit grumpily. @All time Jack sorry for taking so long! I think I'm back for a bit!

He smiled a little as he felt her cuddle so closely to him. She really was affectionate it was something that he was starting to like about her. She was clearly talkative too he was starting to find it difficult to keep up her. He didn't find himself minding however as he hugged her body against his chest. "So if I give you something with meat in it you'll be happy. And here I thought that you were going to be picky." He whispered to her softly. Her sudden thrashing and movement almost made him drop her. He startled and hooked his hands under her knees holding onto her bare skin until she relaxed. "I guess you don't like being wet. Don't worry I'll make you something hot and warm." He promised her walking until they reached his home. "First you should have a bath. It's the best way to warm you up." He whispered to her as he carried her into the bathroom before he set her down onto the sink and started to run the water. "You should get undressed. I can leave you go bathe." @reddeЯ

Youko was impressed with the place he took her to. When he left her in the bathroom she started to poke around, likely sticking her nose into places it didn't belong. She found a couple of good hiding spots, and a nice fluffy thing she found she could rub herself against and dry off faster. Then she found the stream that filled the pond. She figured it must have been some sort of magic, because the water came out warm. She ended up sitting in the pond- which didn't seem to be much of a pond, as all the water ran out a hole in the bottom!- and using her hands to drink the warm water. This got more water on her, and she decided the warm was nice and, since she was already wet, she stuck her head under the water, and all the rest of her, to warm up. After a while the water got cold, as she had obviously run the magic out of it, and she shook herself vigorously before rubbing the fluffy thing all over herself to get any lingering water off. By the time she was finished bathing, her kimono was dry. It was naturally water repellent, though she really didn't know how, or even where it came from. It was hers, and it always fit. She slipped it back on, smoothed out the skirt, then slipped quietly out the door to find the man who'd helped her. When she spotted him in the kitchen, she made herself comfortable sitting on the table and watched him for a moment as he did whatever he was doing that made the kitchen smell so tasty. Then she realized she had no clue what to call him. "Hey Mister, you got a name?" She asked rather abruptly for someone who until that moment had been almost completely silent. @All time Jack
