e to eye on things, had disagreed about prices, and trade routes, and all sorts of things, but had managed to work together despite their differences all this time.
“This would be foolish.” Freya spoke as her father finished. “The Xlyvire’s run the trade route in the city. They’re the head of commerce, going to war with them would be the end of us receiving supplies and goods, not to mention that they more or less own the routes of traveling, getting in or out of the city would be impossible.” Her tone was calm but stern, she knew all together that going to war with the group that ran the market in the Kingdom was far from a good idea.
“Do not fret my angel.” Her father spoke lowly, “For this will be a short and simple war, one will we rein victorious of, and then we can create a commerce that better suits the Kingdom.” Freya shook her head, she understood the frustrations her father felt, she felt some of them herself, but surely war wasn’t the answer. She opened her mouth to speak but was quickly cut off. “We’ve tried to speak to them, we’ve threatened war and they still won’t back down. They’ve called us on our bluff and now it’s time to take action.” General Cain said, his eyes were stern, and Cain and Freya’s history was vast. He knew what she was going to say, he knew that she’d try to communicate her way out of any issue, so he shot down her idea before she could even state it.
“They are businessmen, not solider… let me speak with them.” She pleaded, she knew many of them well from their years of working together, she was certain she could get through to them on the matter. Her pleads were useless, they’d already made up their minds and set out their plans, but that didn’t mean that Freya wasn’t going to be involved. She knew she needed to work quick.
