The sun was setting, casting a warm glow over the kingdom, but it didn’t bring me any peace. I sat on the edge of the balcony, staring out at everything that was supposed to be mine one day. The fields, the villages, the people—all of it looked so perfect from up here. Yet to me, it felt more like a gilded cage.
2:43 PM
The wind picked up slightly, ruffling the edges of my shirt, and I could hear the faint sounds of the kingdom below—markets closing up, people heading home, life going on. A life I wasn’t really part of, no matter how close it seemed from up here.

V would enter the castle in her uniform, a nicely buttoned up white. Shirt with red pants and black overalls. Nothing fancy for a dame as her job wasn’t to fight, rather she was tasks to guard his royalness, prince Atlas. A sigh escaped her lips just thinking about the day she got tasked with that. V has always hoped to become apart of the battalion, fighting amongst her kind for the kingdom, but her dreams ripped Away from her eyes when the king spoke “You may be the best female knight I’ve seen, so im going to give you *the most important task.. watching over my son” The king stated as she would bite her tongue and bow a knock would be heard from the door, as she opened it now, seeing him sit on the balcony she’d call out “Pondering life again Sir?” a gentle tease to her tone as she approach his royalness @Spicy Tuna Roll I’m sorry that took forever

The knock at the door barely registered before it opened, her familiar steps echoing in the room. “Pondering life again, Sir?” V’s voice carried a teasing edge as she approached, uniform crisp as ever. I didn’t look at her. “Something like that. Not much else to do when you’re this… protected.” Her footsteps stopped just behind me, close enough to remind me she was always there, whether I liked it or not. “You must curse your luck, V,” I muttered, glancing over my shoulder with a faint smirk. “The king’s best knight, reduced to babysitting me. Was this the grand destiny you dreamed of?” I leaned back against the railing, watching her for a reaction I knew she wouldn’t give. She never cracked. Not for me, anyway.
