ing about being an Apothecary for many years now through his father, which helped a great deal with getting to know the people of the village. Nobody suspected a thing. One of the most difficult things he had to do to master his ability to present as a man was his voice. He could have easily chose to be mute, but that was something he didn't want to do. The idea of conversing with people was far too important to throw away. So, over the years as he grew up, Cyrus developed a way to deepen his voice. There were times where Elmer offered various herbs and remedies for his son but decided that vocal exercises worked better. If there ever came a time that Cyrus would need those concoctions, he'd use them instead. But his father had warned him that using those constantly would damage the vocal chords permanently. A risk he hasn't taken just yet. Even though he already mutilated his chest, it wouldn't be the first and only thing he couldn't take back.
I wonder what I should make for dinner tonight.. I could go ahead and work on a stew since I got that rabbit gifted to me by Theodore earlier today. His kid had been sick for quite a bit, so I'm lucky to have gotten him some proper medicine.. Alright, that's what I'll make tonight. Rabbit stew!
Taking a turn at a fork in the road, he headed towards the village, greeting those in return who acknowledged him. Cyruss still lived in the same home that his dad had lived in. Obviously, things had been moved around to better suit him. Cyrus had turned his father's old room into his Apothecary with a bed in the corner for patients. It wasn't a big home, so he had to make things work the best he could. Stepping inside, he shut the door and began preparation for the stew. Skinning and properly preparing the rabbit before cutting it up and and adding it to simmer with various vegetables. Everything seemed fine so far, and the food smelled delicious.
But that all changed when he heard a commotion outside.
